It's clear to me this morning. Mcmorey said last week that he didn't think a rookie could make our rotation, that he will address the PG with a vet (Lull #1 I think) so, I looked through at the players in our range thinking about whom would add the greatest value now as rookie and the greatest versatility for the the future. Looking around I read this thought from C.J. Moore@ bleacher report that struck me: That brings us back to the size and versatility. That's becoming more and more valuable with the direction the league is going, especially when you can bring a guy like Dekker off the bench in small or big lineups. That's how the Golden State Warriors have built an elite defense. Guys like Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green can guard multiple positions and allow the Warriors to switch almost every ball screen. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...isconsin-star-be-a-steal-or-bust-in-nba-draft The 18th pick will be Sam Dekker if he's there. (think he'll be a Celtic though) The back-up plan with the same thought is Kelly Oubre. A guy that can come in off the bench and guard anybody at any position with a real chance to grow into a rotation player on his rookie contact. I think the positive image of Chandler Parsons is still fresh in our minds: size . shooting . versatility . better than his draft slot . (*white guy comparison) He could move in right behind Ariza on the depth chart and be the future starter at SF.
18th- Tyus Jones or Jerian Grant 32nd- Christian Wood or Dakari Johnson 1st sleeper- RJ Hunter 2nd sleeper- Travis Trice
D-league stash #18: Rashad Vaughn, Kevon Looney, Tyus Jones #32: Christian Wood, Cliff Alexander Join Rotation now #18: Terry Rozier, Delon Wright, Jerian Grant #32: Richaun Holmes, Vince Hunter Undrafted Tyler Harvey, Corey Hawkins, Dez Wells, Marcus Thornton
Good call. Image that the Rockets have a plan that goes against the "robot fans" ... MUST DRAFT POINT GUARD... Llull is coming and he is going to fit nicely on this team. Dekker can keep Ariza minutes down.
