i really dont think bonzi is much of an outside threat. both tucker and bonzi are most effective when they're playing down low posting up other SG's that can't match their strength in the post. essentially, they're PF's playing SG. pj is also much more athletic and always plays 100%. also a good rebounder for his size. i just think pj is more versatile with his athleticism even though their offensive games are so similar. he's also younger, willing to play his heart out, and cheaper. i really dont see why people keep saying he's just a PF. while his game is based around playing in the post and having a PF type game, he has the athleticism to guard other SG and SF's. just because he cant shoot 3's doesnt mean he cant be effective. a 2pt FG is a 2pt FG whether it's scored from the post or from a midrange jumper.
If he is comparable to Bonzi wouldn't one think that coach Mitchell would have saw that and utilized him? I mean c'mon talent at the collegiate level is one thing and then translating and evolving that onto the nba stage is something else. As of now isn't he contemplating on playing in the summer league or over seas? ( correct me if im wrong) Maybe he needs time to hone his skills but as of now he isn't on Bonzi's level nor that of someone of that caliber. I loved watching him at UT and I wish him the best of luck but I doubt this guy could help the rockets out.
This is horrendous.. It's not the highest award, but that doesn't mean it's nothing. If it was the highest award, he'd go top 10. But him getting something helped him get drafted period. Yes, working on his game is your only good point. But unless he could make *drastic* improvements in his senior year (something you rarely see when it has been preceded by 3 years of playing time), then the upgrade wouldn't help his stock all that much cause it wouldn't have been THAT big an upgrade. You always want to get better, but not if the difference is being drafted vs. not. Him being a potential lotto pick on hype??? hahaha, no way in hell..
