At this point, I dont care about business persepctive, this about loyalty. Do whatever it use you have to do to make it work. Guarantee him a job within the organization when he retires if that's what you have to do, that way you may be able to pay him less. Or just pay the man. He's done everything we've ever asked him. Im not speaking from a rationale place but I really dont care.
anyone getting upset at PJ, when he has every right to his personal stance which is 100% warranted has 0 regard for personal well being and security.
Yeah, but he started his NBA career at 27. Doesn't have as many miles as those guys that were getting heavy use at 19 years old. I think he will have super solid seasons at 35-36-37, ala Mario Elie... I'd be perfectly happy to have him coming off the bench at his current price for a few more years.
Could consider extending him for 2 years...current price or rather less than that, really. But even if he started his NBA career later, his biological age is what it is. Father Time is undefeated. He's a depreciating asset, unfortunately. Good business is to hand out contracts rewarding future performance, not to reward past achievements. And it's just time for a complete rebuild around Harden anyway.
I think his impact goes pretty deep, even from a player development perspective (Talking on Defense). We have $65 million dollars to play with right now to upgrade around Harden (Russ/Gordon/House). No need to mess with a proven leader on the floor and in the locker room who is making less than 1/10th of your Cap. Also, a dude that brings it in the playoffs. Tucker & Covington for $20 Million a year is really, really nice.
Green Cap is salary cap. Cheddar is money. and 92 cents + 8 cents gives you dollar general or family dollar shopping. salad is Salad.... WTF(udge)
Speaking of PJ Tucker, I saw him earlier this week driving a cabless pickup truck turning onto W. Gray right in front of me. I couldn't believe it.
Do you see how you are talking, you are talking like a slimey business owner who treats his employees like crap. Respect the dude's who has heart who always shows out in the playoffs. Really disappointing to read this once again.
