i agree that his contract isnt good but niether is any of our other PF's. if we trade one bad deal for an equaly bad deal it doesnt matter. we will improve because pj is the kind of player we need to win. in two years when mo and PJ's contracts are up, pj will still be a better fit for us, even in his old age. at that point deke will probably be retired and we can resign PJ to be the back-up center. we do need young talent. IMO the best fit for us would be Donyell Marshall. his contract matches the TE and toronto might be willing to bite by Feb.
If we could get PJ .... was it him that tossed Ward to the floor before last time during Miami vs. NY?
Unfortunately, we don't have anything that the Hornets would be interested in, except maybe next year's first round pick.
There was also a TE and a young player involved. PJ would require something going back which Hornets would have to accept.
Taylor straight up for PJ would benefit both teams. However, PJ is going to draw a lot of attention from other teams, and are capable of making better offers.
Because NJ needs a PF who can help them score, which is not Aaron William's forte. We, on the other hand, desperately need rebounding, defense and toughness at PF, which Aaron Williams brings.
we don't need a scorer - we need a rebounder. That guy can get 10 rebounds in his sleep. The only reason his numbers are down right now is because he is having to take on some scoring too. Mo T would be a great player on the Hornets - if he got 20 shots a game he could be a nice scorer for that team - on the Rockets, he is the 6th option and can't get his rythym
Mo Taylor was shooting fine last season. Maybe it's JVG and trying to get Mo to change his game offensively. Asking him to practice 3's can really mess up his offensive shot when he's not acustomed to shooting them on a regular basis. Our team's confidence seems to be at an all time low anyway. I'd welcome more rebounding but at this point I honestly don't think anyone wants to come to Houston to play for us.
If the Rockets were to trade with NO, I think NO would be interested in the following from the Rockets: 1) Nachbar and/or Lue....expiring contracts. Howard (More years than Mo, but less money per year) or Weatherspoon (Only one year left, but not as good as Howard) could be traded with either of those for PJ. 2) NO would also ask for a side trade with NO or maybe in a three way that involves the rockets trade exception an a NO role player with years left like West or Anderson (I doubt they would want to give him away, but see number three). 3) The Rockets eat some Mash potatoes.
2. NO would also ask for a side trade for Rockets trade exception involving a player with years left like Anderson.
But most of the players on those team worth anything seem to opt to go to other teams that are better managed than us . If it's a veteran they want a shot at a ring. If it's a young player the organization doesn't seem to want any part of them cuz JVG seems to be in constant win now mode and picks up old veterans instead.

Because I've seen him play a lot. He's athletic, he blocks shots, and he rebounds. He can't score one-on-one, but then, I don't care.
