Of course Wecko, pay no attention to the 7 games in the first round and the other 6 vs the cavs. This loser didn't show up at all vs hawks. I can't believe he used to be my fav. player.

The finals MVP means that he was the best player in the most important series of the year. Talk down about it all you want, but it is what it is. And no, the argument isn't about raw talent. Its about performance.[/QUOTE]

The finals MVP has nothing to do with being the leader. If that were the case, Magic Johnson wouldn't have gotten it his rookie year.

And what about last year? Duncan was the leader of the spurs in the same way that Pierce is the leader of the celtics, right?

There's talent and there's character. Michael Wilbon said that the most impressive thing about Pierce was how he stepped up over and over again when his team needed him. Is Pierce more talented than KG? That's debatable, but the MVP award went to Pierce because he was the more important part of his team.

Until T-Mac is in the same situation you cannot make a real comparison. Myself, I feel pretty comfortable taking a Finals MVP over pretty much anybody else who doesn't have one. Winning the Finals is an achievement in and of itself. Getting the MVP on top of that is like being stamped with "Winner". And who doesn't want a winner on their team?

Pierce was with the team when he was a loser and couldn't win by himself. They won't give it to the new players just that one year. Take as what you want but he was the leader, if you watched the post game it was...

    Who was the leader? Pierce

Who was the emotional support? KG

Who would you want taking the last second shot? Ray Ray

Awesome. You said Pierce couldn't take over games. I pointed out that he dominated Game 7 against the Cavs (thereby refuting your assertion). And then you accuse me of ignoring other games.

Guess what? The point of my post was to prove your assertion incorrect (which it did). It didn't refer to any other game b/c no such reference was needed.

A good PG is usually the leader. They conduct the offense, and not to mention the greatest PG to ever play..imho

Guess what? So can T-MAC, do you spend this much time defending him?

At least you know Pierce, KG and Allen have what it takes to win. Is there any guarantee that Yao and T-Mac (or Gasol or Nowitzki) have the same stuff? Nope.

Thanks for pointing out the greatest PG to ever play. The point alone that a rookie won it should show it was an exception.

Have we ever won a game 7 with Tmac?

I really hope that we do get some of the piston players by trading Tmac. That would pretty much tell everyone that this is Yao's team. All 4 of the piston stars would complement Yao better than Tmac does(imo).

Actually, it shows that the finals MVP goes to the best player in the finals (on the winning team), not the leader.

They are 3 stars...each with a different role. Why haven't Tmac and Yao won yet? Idk lets hope its injuries and look forward to next season. Btw don't spend so much of your time hating on T-MAC, because if god willing, he holds that finals MVP trophy next season you will feel like $hit. :p

You do realize that in game 7 of the finals in his rookie year (when he won finals mvp), Magic started at center and played all 5 positions?

There wasn't as big of a difference as there should have been between the stars, this is an exception.

Numbers wise etc, do you think it was as hard to pick these MVPs?

    D-Wade
    Parker
    Duncan
    Shaq
    Hakeem
    Jordan

If the Lakers would have won you think there would be such a big disparity between Sasha and Kobe?

Yes and he's the only PG to ever do so, it was one game.

Why haven't Tmac and Yao won? I think its b/c they dont play well together. Thats why this Piston rumor is so intriguing. The pistons have all-star caliber players whose styles work well with Yao's. Hopefully, we can pick up Rasheed. He would be great coming off the bench.

You should analyze more before you post. It seems like a lot of your statements have exceptions that you werent aware of.
