On his show I actually called in and got on to talk about it too. He didnt say it was close to a deal. What I think he was saying was that detroit wanted to deal billups and prince and we said no...come back when you want to deal RIP and Wallace and we will talk and thats where they are at.

He said it was a source close to the rockets that he could not name.

Can someone start a post on which local radio sports talk show supports the Rockets the most!! On 610 , I give major props to Rich and Adam, Dre' and Mark are Texans fans, the other Guys are mutual. On 790, It's baseball, baseball, baseball. Charlie is a good Guy and all, and with baseball being such a slow sport, talking about it makes it hard to stay awake. John Lopez is an idiot!! T-Mac must have forgot to autograph something for him. 1560 The Game is cool, but you never know if John and Lance is going to talk about sports or are they trying to start a comedy act. Espn (97.5 the ticket) is good, Carl Dukes is really knowledgable. Calvin is, well Calvin. Even though he talks Basketball more than the other shows, his show is a monolouge, rather than a dialouge.

hahaha ya, I agree but he is the first houston media source with ANY insider info on this detroit deal....I mean we have to search aimlessly all over the net at like the detroit media, and national media. Its sad that not one writer from the chron or up until now radio broadcasters had NOTHING on it.

There would need to be a second deal lined up to make a Rip & Wallace trade make sense.

Rasheed is going to be an expiring contract that would have nice value if played correctly. Is Thorn still trying to move longterm contract situations?

Ya in the 09 season? They of course will do other moves but that lineup is fineand you want to keep Landry and Scola for the next year when Wallace is out. Keep Wallace all of next year then have big money for 09 like 20 mil kinda money.

They will just have to play landry at the 3 alot to give battier a break. Which wont be bad cause hamilton would be draining 3s all day. Then when he is tired throw in Novak. lol

I like that better for Detroit. Still very wary of McGrady, but that's less of a risk.

I'd take Rip and Prince for McGrady. The problem with that is that it STILL won't resolve our PG issue....unless Morey got something up his sleeve. And no, Andre Miller and his 21% 3pt FG% is not the answer.

have you seen pierce's playoff performance before game 7 v. the cavs? dude was a ghost for 90% of them averaging 15 ppg on 38% shooting. that's like 13 games of playoff basketball before he stepped up. so laugh all you want.

if tmac played that poorly, he get traded for a bag of chips.

So? Pierce was the MVP and Kobe wasn't? Does that make him better?

i like either billups+prince or rip+sheed deal. but the latter obviously makes more sense for us.

thought it was just a baseless rumor. but since calvin said something about it, it may have some credibility?
