Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides [Trailer]

yeah seriously i still like the ride but its not the same anymore before it was a "must ride" whenever I went to Disneyland now its a "if i have time I'll go"

no its not just the last part its all throughout the entire ride they basically made it off the film now which is ironic since the film was supposed to be about the ride.

the changes they made that I notice for sure were:

1) there is the mist screen at the beginning of the ride with davy jones (also a hidden mickey in jones' hat)
2)during the ship/fort cannonball fight screen the captain of the ship is now captain Barbossa and he is asking for jack sparrow
3) the guy being drowned in the well is being asked about the whereabouts of jack sparrow


There are like 3-4 jack sparrows now throughout the ride there is one where near the guy drowning in the well...another buy the drunk guy with the map (whose audio also changed to reflect sparrow) and as grendal mentioned as you are coming up the ramp at the end there is one last one in a small area that is entirely new to the ride

also you hear Davy Jones again saying we got away easy as you are going up the ramp


they also took out the audio when you are seeing the forbidden treasure where you hear random pirates say "he has seen the treasure he knows too much" etc

it really bugged me that disney took one of its most iconic attractions and destroyed it like this...i mean I was ok with the small PC changes they made in the early 90s to the ride but this isnt the ride i grew up on.


Hopefully when Star Tours re-opens in the summer its not nearly as bad as pirates has become .... (Star Tours is being re-done to make it more modern and i think a bit more in line with the first 3 star wars movies or something) Star Tours can change in terms of getting better more up to date simulators but hopefully they dont kill the entire ride and have like Jar-Jar binks now on it

 

there was no plot.. it was a just a mess.. a collection of random scenes with pirates and special effects. The third one was even worse

 

So Blackbeard isn't a pirate lord?

Oh come on man the second one had a plot, it just wasn't as good as the first one.

Jack Sparrow had a debt to pay to Davy Jones and he didn't want to.. So the whole movie is based pretty much on that...

 

Wow seriously?! I loved all three. In fact I'm not sure I'd rank the first as the best imo.... the climactic battle at the end of the first is probably among my least favorite scenes in the whole series.

But all three were just a whole lotta swashbuckling fun. That said, I'm not sure how much I'm looking forward to this...yet...because I almost feel a little POTC fatigue.

I'll probably get crucified for this, but that trailer felt like waaaay too much Jack Sparrow for me. I love him as a character, but not as somebody who will be on screen for about 2 hours straight. Of course, I could be swayed if this film is any good...

 

Its a bit refreshing not having Bloom or Knightley in it. They got annoying midway through the second movie.

I am interested to see what happened with Barbosa and the Black Pearl. Count me in.

Pirates are the most overrated movies ever...
They are also some of the crappiest movies i have ever seen..

 

No, but it's funny how you can tell exactly how a movie will be like by watching a minute-long trailer. And facts right? My facts were right. You said it. Don't deny it.

You had this nice gem in the tornado thread too: "250 should not have die from this tragedy. Someone really need to answer and put into place, inspection check to make sure every home have a concrete place for people to protect themselves from this."
