That's what I was thinking. And I don't know I necessarily believe that Ausmus is that much faster than Chavez.

Edit: But it hardly matters...good game by the good guys!

    I don't either.

Glad we won. This turnaround has been amazing.

Chavez played well tonight though. He had 2 doubles with 2 outs in the inning.

Wade Miller is talking about coming out of the bullpen in the closing weeks of the season. They don't think he can build up enough arm strength to rejoin the rotation after a 2 month layoff. [this from the chronicle]

That's 8 in a row and what, 16 of 19? This has been an absolutely incredible run. Since August 15th, the Astros have scored the most runs, had the most extra base hits, and had the 2nd most homers in the majors. Unfortunate that only the Marlins and Sox are getting all the coverage but who cares as long as we keep chipping away.

If wade can get the arm strength to pitch an inning out of the pen in front of Lidge, that would be an absolutely lethal combination - and possibly add another shutdown arm to the pen.

I was listening to the game on 740 KTRH and Milo had Drayton (Stros owner) on they were commenting on C. Beltran on how he is a nice guy ect... and how he is going to be a star in this league. His tone gave me the impression that he is going to be a star but not w/ the Stros.

Did anyone else get that impression?

I heard some of it. I don't think Drayton will open the wallet to keep this guy.

Do you guys think if the wild card race get close enough towards the end of the month ... that the ASTROS should think about goin on a 4 man rotation? to get more out of OSWALTS and CLEMENS? I love the way Hernadez is pitching and Backe ... but Munro I just dont feel to safe with him even though he has been pitching decent lately.

If Darren Oliver can come back with Miller in the bull pen behind Lidge.
    PLAYOFF here we COME!!!!!

Once we get past the double-header with the Pirates than this is a possibility, but until then we have no option

I guess Kip Wells got hurt? In any event, he is out in the first inning and Van Benschoten is in. Lets rock this new guy ... I'll take a 10-9 victory :)

Great Pick me up by Lamb!!! 3-2 Pirates.

Berkman should know better than to make the 3rd out at 3rd base. Thats a big No-No to me. It's just not worth the risk unless you are 95% sure you are going to make it.

Looks like Munro settled down. What happened to the pitcher from Elkins?

Wells was coming off the DL to make this start - probably rushed back a bit, maybe a slight re-injury and taken out as a precautionary measure.

wow. Kent gets Berkman home, 4-3.
