The day couldn't have started any better. I just received an email from Amazon.com telling me that the "Pulse" concert is being sent earlier than expected. I know Manny is a Pink Floyd fan and many of you need to see this. IMO it is by far the best concert I have seen on video.
I'm sorry to mislead. Amazon said it was shipping earlier than expected and then my shipping date said September. I was thinking that it was on its way. At least we know the release date now. This thing has been in my queue since it first appeared at Amazon. I guess 5 months isn't too much longer, considering the original video came out 10 years ago.
I haven't ordered it. When it comes out, I'll pick it up at Best Buy or somewhere. I've just been following the release dates and it seems like it was announced way back a little bit after the DVD format came out.
on a ((((slightly)))) related note... i just ordered the white stripes under blackpool lights DVD from amazon. it had over 50 reviews with a 5 star rating... people say it's amazing. the white stripes keep shooting up my list of all time favorite bands.
I got the concert and it's pretty good. I hadn't seen too much of Pink Floyd except for a few minutes of them when they were younger. I don't know what is was I saw them on (it might have been Echoes) - they were young and playing in a stadium except there was no audience present. This pulse concert is the first time I've seen them perform in front of people. David Gilmour's voice isn't the same as when he was younger, but he's not bad. For an older guy, I'd say he's good. So far I've watched Wish you Were Here (Parts I-V), Time, and Great Gig in the Sky. I've liked what I've seen so far. I needa go watch the rest.
Picked up my copy yesterday at Circuit City along with the double CD which I'm listening to right now. They also gave away "The Wall" DVD for free yesterday morning with the purchase, so that was mucho deece! Will issue the Pulse DVD this weekend after 2 or eleventeen beers reside in my belly.
