Another thing no one has mentioned is the part where the 3 midgets are singing to Dorothy in perfect time to the Pink Floyd song.
But a coincedence nonetheless. Have done it a few times. Baked. Nice. I remember this one time, we were at a loss when DSOTM ended, as the movie needed finishing .. so we threw on the next studio album, Wish You Were Here. That didn't work so well ... but whatever. Pack another flaky bowl. It's all good.
I know this is reaching (because the lyrics are mis-interpreted to make it seem like a coincidence), but: "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day"... sounds a lot like "TAKING away the moments that make up a DOG day", and it happens to sync up right where the Witch is taking away Toto. Now even the mis-iterpreted lyrics are a little too coincidental... also, haven't there been like 10 threads on this phenomenon already? (its ok... I still like hearing about it, and the google link deserves it's own thread).
Do they say "Dull Day"? Damn...it sounded like "Dog Day" to me Yeah, there have been like 10 threads on this already. But, I have never seen the actual syncronized showing of it. I could be wrong on that.
Ticking away the moments the make up a dull day/taking away the moments that make up a dog day are probably the most misheard lyrics of all time
Jimi fed into this myth by singing "Kiss this Guy" and looking at Noel or Mitch while singing it. Ok, I know WAY too much about Jimi Hendrix
I've never done the match-up, not a big Floyd guy but I do like that album (the only non-psychedelic one I listen to). It was on at some party when I was 19, in the basement (isn't that where's it's always at?) and while I watched the first five minutes or so (and thought it was cool), my I decided to go where the girls were (the upstairs) after the first couple of songs. That said, thanks to Bob, I'll try it again tonight. Girls have cooties.
We watched it last night. Sure, there are a few places where the album syncs up with some movie scenes, the most noticeable being the ringing bells starting at the exact moment the woman on the bike shows up to take away Toto. Having said that, I have a feeling that you could throw on pretty much any album and you'd find some coincidences like that. Also, the last half of the album didn't sync up with anything at all. I have been meaning to do this for a long time (play the album along with the movie) but overall I was disappointed. Thanks for posting it, though. It was interesting.
I also noticed (and forgive me if this was posted already) that as Dorothy decides to run away, it shows her walking out of the farm just as the lyrics "No one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun" play.
