Moroccan women are beautiful, no argument there. ;)

I lived in the Eastern Province of Saudi for a period of 8 years (the industrial city of Jubail, if you're familiar with it), and I never enjoyed living somewhere or had better memories than I did living in that town. I made so many friends and just absolutely loved it. If I had a choice, I would go back there in a heartbeat.

However, most expatriats living in Saudi are people needed to work in the medical field or the technology field (i.e. physicians and engineers/programmers/etc for the most part). So, basically, there is little to no chance of that happening for me. :)

What other places have you visited man? My dream has always been to visit the following countries: Turkey, Spain, Morocco, Malaysia, Russia, China, Lebanon, Israel, and Brazil. Those are the top destinations I am hoping I will get around to visiting one of those days.

Of course ... Jubail! I go there for work sometimes. We have to travel there and Jeddah every now and then, but mostly Riyadh. What do you do?

Yeah, Saudi's are very friendly folks, and it's really fun when you're waving hands in each others' faces :D

I've only been here a year, so have only had 3 trips so far. But next year, I'll be visiting 2 on your list: Malaysia and Russia, or maybe Turkey, and Australia. I'm planning China for the 2008 Olympics ... will be amazing!

Other than that, I've been to Greece, France, and that's really about it ... here and there in the Middle East ... one of the big reasons for accepting this job since you don't really get to travel as much as you'd like living in the US ... always tied down with work, lack of money/vacation, etc.

I'd love to travel to Israel, but it would end any chance of coming back to Riyadh, but maybe I can go the Jordan route someday ... would be nice.

Sounds great! May be I will just live vicariously through you. :D

I feel you. If you live and work in the U.S., it will be more difficult to do what you've been doing working in Saudi. When I was in Saudi I was still a high school kid, lived with my parents who worked there. I had a lot of great memories there, and I have always wanted to go back there one day if at least to visit and get reaquainted with my friends from the neighborhood.

I remember my father used to get about 30-40 days a year of paid vacation time, the airline tickets were paid for and they usually got a nice lumpsum of money as an 'end of the year bonus' type of thing. Both my parents worked there as MD's.

So yah, no place like the Gulf. :)

Heh! Yes, I would skip the Israeli vacation if I were you.

I would love to visit the holy shrines there as well as spend some vacation time in Tel Aviv, which some call the twin city of Alexandria (Egypt, that is).
