Holy Crap!!! I absolutely love cheese and I have to have it with everything...I love fried food and I do stay away from fast food, but I have to have it at least twice a month...No Pappasitos, Pappadeaux, Chili's...Good god man...
I don't eat mushrooms or raw tomatoes because of the taste. I don't eat anything that comes from the sea for a different reason that I don't want to get into.
I've noticed a lot of mayo haters here. When I was a kid, I ate some potato salad and I got food poisoning. I spent a night dry-heaving while my stomach turned into knots. Needless to say, just the smell of it alone makes me sick.
Before I went vegan five years ago, I *HATED* milk. Made me sick to even think about -- I must have downed some chunky milk when I was a kid or something. Loved cheese, though. Never liked eggs, either. Especially after a friend called them a "period in a shell." Ew.
Ok, I really have to ask this: You people DON'T eat this stuff or CAN'T eat this stuff? Because I think it's being incredibly ungrateful if you don't eat just....well, just coz. I mean, I guess it's fine if you avoid ONE type of food, but Manny, are you like allergic to all those foods? I'm reffering to the people who don't eat things for silly reasons, and ofcourse standards of silliness differ. Just want to know what everyone is thinking I guess... I can't eat seafood. It makes me vomit (I know the word, but don't know hot to spell it, lol).
You spelled vomit right, Sane. No, I could eat those foods but to me I would feel that I would throw up - seriously. If I eat anything that I detest, I can feel the gag reflex coming on. And some of the stuff I don't like I feel is too bland or dry and has no taste to it. I would rather eat cardboard then some of that stuff. So, to answer your question - no I am not allergic to the foods that I don't like, I just don't like having my gag reflex enacted/eating cardboard.
I hate Tomotoes and Ketchup. Spaghetti sauce and Pizza is fine, but other than that, NO way im eating either of that. If a tomato touches my burger. The burger is not going in my mouth. If there were packets of ketchup in the bag of fries. The fries will be returned for new fresh ones. Thats called being picky. Ofcourse I dislike veggies and many of the other nasty stuff, but The two mentioned earlier make me go
Are you saying you should eat food you don't enjoy? I don't like the way Chinese food in general tastes, but I should eat it anyway?
Kinda, yeah. Just because you don't like Hamburgers doesn't necessarily mean you won't like Hot Dogs, or Frito Pie, or Fried Chicken, yet they're all "American Foods". You might be surprised if you tried something else Chinese, like won ton soup, or chinese dumplings or chicken and green beans, or general Tso's chicken, or fried rice, or an egg roll, or, hell, maybe Sushi, or Tempua chicken or miso soup. (lasi three were Japanese.)
anti, you're my twin in just about everything else... but no miracle whip? sigh. the last couple of years i've gone with real mayonnaise (sp?). it goes on my sandwiches, butterbeans, blackeyed peas, and every other kind of bean that i eat. i've just started doing the raisins by themselves thing. don't like them mixed in carrot cake or bread. sure in the hell don't like that carrot/raisin salad crap.
I don't understand how an individual can hate every single type of Chinese food, but I'll take your word for it. As for your question, it's not EXACTLY what I'm saying. I'm talking about someone who is a guest and refuses to eat something just because they don't enjoy it. Something like that. Someone said they ake protein powder for their proteins, but I think that's bad because I'm pretty sure these powders have side effects. I'm sure you can find SOMETHING natural with protein to get your daily dose, aren't you the least bit worried that you're harming your body? I guess it depends on how you look at food. For me, it's nourishment first, and enjoyment second. Wasn't always this way, I used to prefer Burger King over just about anything else.. But now I'd much rather have a good salad. It's nice to eat everything you like, but it shouldn't always be the case. You can eat what you enjoy, and that's fine, but if you're extremely picky, then you're hurting your body, and that's exactly like smoking or drinking. I guess that's what I'm thinking.
I wont eat any animal. Or anything thing cooked in animal fat or broth. Heck I dont even wear leather.
