Nash is the worst defender in the NBA, that is why I would take Rondo over him. And Rondo was the best player on a team that made the finals this season, Nash has yet to do that. Rond's deficiencies on offense are not nearly as bas as Nash's deficiencies on defense.

I want tangible proof that he's the worst defender in the NBA. Not the "he's white" argument. I'm sorry but if you think Rondo is better than Nash you're an idiot. This past season he was just as good as his MVP seasons and lead the Suns to the WCF. IMO Nash might still be the best PG in the league. If you want to look at stats, knock yourself out: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/n/nashst01.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/rondora01.html Nash has such an edge statistically it's ridiculous.
Whats not to understand? I believe Rondo is better than Nash at this point. But I can still see how other people might try argue the other way around, which I still wouldn't agree to. Yes, Nash is more accomplished but I don't think we're basing it off player's accomplishments. Otherwise, we'd have more people putting Shaq in their top 3 centers.
I'm not sorry, if you think Nash is the best PG in the NBA, you sir are the idiot. Not to mention it is widely believed that he did not deserve either of his MVP awards. Tangible proof? have you watched the guy? Isn't this the same player Rafer Alston lit up on a nightly basis in their matchups? Go look at how well opposing PGs play against Nash. I don't need to post proof of it because I know it is true, you can look it up for yourself. Rondo has a ring and led a team to the NBA finals, two things Nash has NEVER done.
Rondo didn't lead a team anywhere. Nash has never had talent like that on any team he's ever been on. As far as the Alston comment goes: http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=alstora01&p2=nashst01 the numbers speak for themselves. Please stop propagating your opinions as fact. The stats speak for themselves, the accolades speak for themselves, enough said.
Rondo didn't lead a team anywhere? Remind me of where the Celtics ended up this season and who was their best player? And Nash has had no talent? Are Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Joe Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Jason Richardson, Q Richrdson, Grant Hill, Leandro Barbosa, etc not talented players? He has has probably had more talent around him than any other PG in the last decade. And what accolades? Last time I checked, Rondo has a ring and is just entering his prime, while Nash is ringless and nearing the end of his career. Nash is the worst defender in the NBA, bar none, that is why he cannot enter the discussion in an all-time great or even a current best discussion.

1. Steve Nash (Gets it done with a crap roster every year. He will work his magic again this year.) 2. Deron Williams 3. Chris Paul (I can't rate him number 1 right now, but I do feel he will go down as the best of these 3) --------------------------- 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Dwayne Wade (Probably more dynamic than Kobe at this point, but Kobe won't drop until he is knocked off...) 3. Manu Ginobili (Healthy over Joe Johnson, imo) --------------------------- 1. Lebron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Carmelo Anthony --------------------------- 1. Dirk Nowitzki 2. Pau Gasol 3. Chris Bosh (Tempting to go with Stoudamire and Lee, but Bosh is the best all around player here...) --------------------------- 1. Dwight Howard 2. Tim Duncan (Somewhat cheating, but he has played CENTER with Bonner and McDyess the last few years...) 3. Yao Ming (Arguably the best when healthy)
Nash is a future HOFer ring or no ring. Rondo is not. at least not yet. Stockton is regarded as the best PG ever by many. no ring. Rondo is good but Nash is on another level as far as playmaking and offense.
This made me smile. As if after reading the rest of your ridiculous post this is the part most people would object to.
PG Deron Williams Chris Paul Steve Nash SG Kobe Bryant Dwyane Wade Brandon Roy SF Lebron James Kevin Durant Carmelo Anthony PF Pau Gasol Dirk Nowitzki Chris Bosh C Dwight Howard Yao Ming (only if he is fully fit) Andrew Bogut (massively underated, was single handedly carrying the Bucks till his injury)
Are you serious? Outside of Amar'e all of those players were role players. Joe Johnson didn't become as great as he now (an amazing choker), Marion, Q-Rich have all sucked as soon as they left Nash. Shaq sucked. Jason Richardson had peaked. Barbosa we'll see. Same with Amar'e Nash makes players better. Anyway for me 1. Deron Williams 2. Steve Nash 3. Chris Paul (number 1 if healthy) Nash is the best offensively IMO. There's no one who makes the players around him better the way Nash does (look at Channing Frye, Marion, Q-Rich, all of whom owe Nash their money). Deron Williams can run a team beautifully and is stronger than the other two which gives him more options. He's solid defensively. CP3 is number 1 IMO. He's amazing. He's just got to be healthy and not a douche. --------------------------- 1. Dwayne Wade 1A. Kobe Bryant 3. Brandon Roy Kobe isn't as consistent as Wade and nobody does more with less than Wade. They're both end game killers and have extremely versatile do everything games. Roy is 3rd. Also amazing end game but for some reason is often inconsistent. --------------------------- 1. Lebron James 2. Kevin Durant 2.5 Carmelo Anthony Lebron is the best. Durant and Melo are amazing scorers but Durant seems to be a better leader. Melo has never missed the playoffs though. Melo's defense has been like T-Mac's. Too inconsistent for someone with his tools. I just love Durant and his personality though. --------------------------- 1. Dirk Nowitzki 1a. Pau Gasol 3. Tim Duncan Nowitzki can score like a beast. Gasol is better all around than Nowitzki but can sometimes disappear in big matches. Duncan is getting old but I would still pick him over Bosh. I don't like Bosh because he can't get his team to the playoffs. --------------------------- 1. Dwight Howard 2. Yao Ming 3. Andrew Bogut Yao is the best offensively but can be shut down by fronting. He's not close to the defensive presence that Dwight is. Dwight while ugly offensively is really effective. Bogut is a step below both of them. He's become quite dependable though. All number 1 picks weirdly enough. 3.
Only morons think Nash didn't deserve his MVPs. Chris Paul Deron Williams Steve Nash Dwyane Wade Kobe Bryant Brandon Roy Lebron James Kevin Durant Carmelo Anthony Dirk Nowitzki Chris Bosh Pau Gasol Yao Ming Dwight Howard Andrew Bogut The Heat are ridiculous...
