I could beat anybody with this team. I'm picking for role/fit as well as individual brilliance.

    ST: Samuel E'too (Barca/Cameroon)
    FW: Didier Drogba (Chelsea/Cote D'Ivoire)
    CAM: Ronaldinho (Barca/Brazil)
    LW: Arjen Robben (Chelsea/Netherlands)
    RW: Cristiano Ronaldo (ManU/Portugal)
    CDM: Emerson (Real Madrid/Brazil)
    LB: Gianlucca Zambrotta (Barca/Italy)
    RB: Willie Sagnol (Bayern/France)
    LCB: Carlos Puyol (Barcelona/Spain)
    RCB: Fabio Cannavarro (Inter/Italy)
    GK: Peter Cech (Chelea/Czech Republic)

Robben isn't as good as some of these other players but on the left he'd fit a good role. Drogba, since 2006, has quite simply been the best and most consistent forward in the world, IMO. E'too would be a good complement to Drogba's strength. Ronaldhino and Carlos Ronaldo need no explanation. Emerson was a close selection over Gennaro Gattuso, Gilberto Silva, or Claude Makalele. Zambrotta and Sagnol are probably better on defense than offense which is fine for this team. (not that many big name right backs, btw) Central Defense - there's about 6 guys (Terry, Ferdinand, Marquez, Caravalho, etc.) with a claim for this one. And Cech is the best GK in the world, IMO.

Great list, but I don't really understand why to have both Drogba and Eto'o in the team. Eto'o is just so pure scorer that you wouldn't need anyone like Drogba. 'Dinho shoots a lot of goals, so the offense would still be really effective.

I'd also replace Cech with Casillas.

Well I hate 1-striker formations, plus Drogba is taller, strong as an ox and good with his head. He's like a big battering ram up front. His play dating back to around January 2006 to the present has been pretty sick, he's probably had more goals in all competitions than anyone. Plus he's having his best season next to another superstar pure scorer (Shevchenko) so I thnk he would flourish.

Márquez leading the middle of the defense. There's no question about it. I am NOT being a Mexican ethnocentrist here, but I don't think anyone else has his defensive skill. :(

I think your list is somewhat accurate, SamFisher, with the exception of having Ilker Casillas on the goalposts.

And when you need to break someone's skull, you have Marquez.

I still had no idea what we were talking about after this post, so I pulled out my dictionary - but I found no English entry titled 'futbol'.

How do you leave Eissen off the team? I would take him over Emerson...he's probably the best all round player in the world at this point in time, he's only 23

Instead of using a dictionary try using some common sense, unless that's too tough for you.

Yes, 'we'. Here's a transcript of this very thread, in case you missed it:

    And you, sir...

This is the part where I say something argumentative in response to your insult.

But you probably didn't understand my post in the first place...and I'm a better man than I once was.

    So I choose to abstain.

    Have a nice day.

If you were such a great guy you wouldn't have been trolling in the first place.
