Thanks... he's about the only choice if you want a team with both an elite Center and Point. Alvin's my all-around good, shut down 2, Roundfield my workman-like, hard-nosed rebounding 4 and Short is my volatile scorer at the 3.
of course it would, considering i dont have a hof player or a 5 time all star....make a team like mine and lets battle! however my 2nd team chosen should beat yours: astroRocket: Hakeem Olajuwon (50 great) Marcus Camby (Never All Star) Detlef Schrempf (White) Michael Finley Cuttino Mobley (2nd round, Never All Star) mine: PG: Nick Van Exel (2nd round) SG: Jimmy Jackson (non allstar) SF: Eddie Johnson (non allstar) PF: Pau Gasol (white) C: Hakeem Olajuwon (top 50) my backcourt should dominate yours and eddie can outgun schrempf! i like my chances
The rules don't say you have to take one. btw, nice pick with van exel. I forgot he was a 2nd rounder.
None of these youngsters are any good. We're talking Dan Roundfield here. Anyway, I took the wording in the rules to mean you don't have to have a present player... 4. You can only pick 1 player drafted from 1997 till present. 5. If you pick any player drafted from 1997 till present that has averaged at least 25 points or more in a season, or averaged 20 points and 10 boards, you must then pick 2 players that were never an all-star: the kobe, wade, duncan, yao, et al, rule.
you guys are correct, my bad id be curious to see if you guys can come up with a squad without a hof player, a 5 time all star, or 97+ player that avgs less than 25 or 20 & 10??
Can't use that combo above...Mason was supposed to be my all-star (01-selection), but I've decided to replace him with P.J. Brown who is similar player ...plus Peja is questionable anyway...he was drafted in 96...but wasn't active player until 98....so I won't use New Rosters C - Rony Seikaly (non-all star, white) PF - Dennis Rodman (all star, 2nd and beyond rnd, less than 5 all-star appear, not hof, not top 50) SF- Lamar Odom (non-all star, drafted after 97, never has averaged over 25 ppg or 20 pts. and 10 rebs in the same season) SG-Michael Jordan (Top 50/HOF) PG-Mookie Blaylock (all star, less than 5 all-star appearance)
instead of using P.J Brown...i figure I will use Dennis Rodman as my 2nd and beyond and all star...while I will trade Peja for Lamar Odom who has never been selected to an All-Star game and has never averaged 20 pts. and 10 rebs in the same season.
I like the back court, but better hope you don't run into a wilt or shaq lead team. The problem with balancing a team is that it is imperative that you use either a 1997 player as the power forward or get yourself one of the bad ass centers. Otherwise you'll have a lopsided team! Very Challenging!!!!
Damn it, even I messed up on the rules! I switch Howard for Okafor PG: Fat Lever [Regular Player] SG: Ice Man George Gervin [Hofer, 3rd rounder] SF: Toni Kukoc [non-allstar] PF: Emeka Okafor [non-allstar 1997-present] c: Tom Chambers [White Guy]
My team. Tell me if I violated any rules. C: Mark Eaton(white, one ASG, best year, 9.7 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 5.6 bpg, 1.5 asg) PF: Dennis Rodman(two ASGs, best year: 9.8 ppg, 18.7 rpg, 2.3 apg) SF: Bernard King(four ASGs, best year: 32.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.7 apg) SG: Baron Davis(two ASGs, best year: 20.1 ppg, 8.1 asg, 4.4, rpg, 2.1 spg) PG: Kevin Johnson(three ASGs, best year: 22.2 ppg, 10.1 asg, 3.5 rpg, 2.1 spg)
revamp my team yet again.... Rony Seikaly - Center (non-all star) Rasheed Wallace - Power Foward (3x all star) Jason Kapono - Small Foward (2nd Rnd. and beyond, white, 97 and beyond) Michael Jordan - Shooting Guard (HOF/Top 50) Mookie Blaylock - Point Guard (1 time all star)
Thanks, I figured if my team has Eaton and Rodman down low I can afford to have a chucker like B. Diddy in the mix.
Jason Kapono out Steven Jackson in Rony Seikaly - Center (non-all star, white) Rasheed Wallace - Power Foward (3x all star) Steven Jackson - Small Foward (2nd Rnd. and beyond, white, non-all star) Michael Jordan - Shooting Guard (HOF/Top 50) Mookie Blaylock - Point Guard (1 time all star)[/
Bruce's Bernard King selection got me to thinking about a team of threes... Bernard King (four ASGs, best year: 32.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.7 apg) Mark Aguirre (3 ASGs, best year: 29 ppg, 6 rpg, 4.5 apg) Xavier McDaniel (1 ASG, best year: 23 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.5 apg) Jerome Kersey (2nd round, no ASG, best year: 19 ppg, 8 rpg, 3 apg) Tom Gugliotta (white, 1 asg, 20.6 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 4.1 apg)
what, you made several teams...are we supposed to pick people that haven't been picked yet? Might help if you just come up w/ one team, because you've got my guy MARK F'N PRICE! I'll take him at pg and swap someone else to follow the rules if I can. In the meantime: Brad Daugherty Larry Nance Lebron James Craig Ehlo Andre Miller Basically the best Cavs in the past 20 years, within the rules (I think?).
You don't need a 2nd rounder or no ASG guy with the other guys you have. You should consider replacing Gugliotta or Kersey with a guy like Andrei Kirilenko. AK-47 gives you a little more shot blocking presence for your team of 3s.
Another team. C: Hakeem Olajuwon PF: Otis Thorpe SF: Paul Pressey(never allstar) SG: Micheal Ray Richardson PG: Steve Kerr(never allstar, 2nd rounder, white)
