The Rockets WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW that they - amazingly and coicidentally - just happen to think the 4th pick is as valuable as the 2nd pick, whether it's other teams looking to possibly buy or their suffering fan base.
He would have gotten more credit had he gotten a top 3 2022 draft player at the 3rd spot. Right now he got a 5-10 best player, that's not credit. That's a debit.
Don't want Scoot. The NBA rigged the draft for SA to get #1 and us #4 for a reason. It's like you're about to go on vacation to the Maldives because plane tickets are $1200 and you have a voucher to cover, but now they say you have to go to Cabo with that voucher. Are you going to overspend to go to the Maldives now when you feel you should have had it for free just to go? Maldives is great (personal experience) but is it worth breaking the bank if you're on a budget and trying to save? I vote for drafting Amen or trading the pick but not moving up.
I believe Portland will pick Amen because they LOVE his athleticism. Our choice might be Ausar or Brandon Miller?
Ppl put too much stock on athleticism and ignore the basics of the game. Amen literally carries the ball i've seen clips of him carrying the ball over and over again. He completely misses the rim sometimes since his shooting form is abysmal. I dunno why some people so allergic to Desmond Bane type of players. Not flashy but gets the job done. We are already athletic as a team. Jalen, Kenyon, Tari, Jaygup are all athletic players. If there's a chance for us to get Scoot we should pursue that. His free throw % is very encouraging and had watched couple of his games and he looked like a great playmaker and an unselfish player to me.
Why is that a debit? Jabari was almost universally acknowledged as the BPA at 3. The only other guy in play was Ivey and Jabari is better than Ivey. Personally I see Jabari as a net neutral pick since it is obvious, kinda like picking Ja Morant no 2 or picking Mobley no 3. No 4 picking Amen or Miller is the same, it's the obvious pick as well.
