i know the flower!!! it is actually really cool! my parents had one and we watched it bloom all night maybe 15 yrs ago. it's cool b/c it happens so fast, you can literally watch it shake/tremor and grow more open. it was gone by morning time. thanks for the pics!!!

You save my thread. Spoiler Happy you like it. I must admit that I am lack of aesthetic sense hence I often took photos from a lousy angle. Perhaps you need the contrast to truly appreciate the beauty of the flower. She was grown in a a bush no body taking care of and the flower has no leaves. The stems are ugly (look like dying cactus) and you can merely notice the buds as they are pretty much the same as the stems. So no one would bother to look at the bush when they walked by in the morning then when you went back home in the middle of night, there was a flower larger than your palm blossomed. Isn't it fantastic?
I think it's both pretty and ugly as crap at the same time. Kinda like the corpse flower, which is freaky, pretty, ugly, and smells like rotting flesh all at the same time.
I think it's funny that moes' suggestion that the picture is of Lady_Di's "flower" is immediately followed by Fatty's claim that he thinks the flower is ugly and if he were nearby he would stomp on it. The mental image is just too silly to not giggle at.
