I've lived in Austin for the last 29 years, so I've seen it here for sure! North Houston?? No wonder. :p

Friend just said he heard on 790 that they've agreed on the trade? Anyone else hear anything?

I know! And it helped me so much!

How else would I know that Micheal Jordan was drafted by the Rockets but they then traded him for chumps change to the Bulls. Or how Daryl Morey is really a robot!

The Suns averaged 10 more points per game than the Rockets this season so how does that translate to a 1 point to 1.5 per player stat padder.
So a guy that averages 10 in Houston would average 15 in Phoenix. Times that by the 12 players on the roster and you would be saying that the Suns outscore Houston by 70+ points a game.
You are right about one thing, your math would add up to them scoring 300 points a game. LITERALLY.

And you skip over the fact that Barbosa shoots 47% from the field and 40% from 3. BOTH WAY BETTER THAN BROOKS. Of all the Suns lack of defense, they best two defenders they had in their good years were Bell and Barbosa.

I know there are different meanings to the symbol but in this case for him to tweet this in the midst of him potentially being traded to Houston could be a sign, it's all we're sayin.

He could just be sayin Rock n Roll dudes! haha

Everyone stop worrying about Landry. They can not get Landry unless he himself agrees to the trade deal; I sincerely doubt he would want to go to Phoenix. Amar'e could split time between PF and fill the void at backup C.

This is the way I see it (very very roughly without considering many factors) if this trade goes down and we retain our FAs...

    Lowry/Barbosa.......................... 30min/18min
    Ron Artest/Von Wafer................ 30min/18min
    Shane Battier/Carl Landry........... 28min/20min
    Amar'e Stoudemire/Luis Scola...... 14min/34min
    Yao Ming/Amar'e Stoudemire........ 30min/18min

This way Amar'e gets to be a starter, but Luis Scola does not lose ANY play time at all. He actually gains 2 minutes more than Amar'e, but again, this is rough.

Also note that Carl Landry is playing SF, I feel he is undersized for a PF and with his improved jumper and quick feet he could play the 3 effectively.

I swear, I keep trying to get some work done at the office but I just keep getting drawn back to the BBS to check everything and make some posts!!

I can not wait for tonight! I'm working in San Antonio right now and was thinking about crashing this Spurs draft party they are having at a Buffalo Wild Wings here in all of my Rockets gear.

Just tried this in Trade Checker... it doesn't work unless Carl signs off on it.

    Restriction: Carl Landry from Houston
Landry has signed an offer sheet that has been matched which means he must agree to any trade which occurs before Sep 25, 2009. However, he cannot be traded to Charlotte.

Wow. Will grant the offensive power of Amare (NIKEstrad), but joptomac, I have watched a lot of Barbosa, and the dude just seems to have very poor defensive fundamentals and instincts. You can't say "no" to we agree to disagree, can you? :) Unless you are saying you don't disagree, or you are saying you will cudgel me with arguments until I declare Barbos-oley! to be a better defender than Brooks.

Anyway, glad some people are excited about this. And you could be right that players will learn the team defense concepts and play harder on a contender. I don't think that's true of all players... it's not a given, pending attitude and the number of touches one gets on offense, etc.

Amare well be worth the risk on offense. I do recall when he and Yao were both the huge prospects and Rudy called Amare (rightly) a "beast." To think they could both be on the same team is pretty amazing at some level.

He'll be the starting PF on a team with Steve Nash. He can go there, put up solid numbers and get a new contract. You don't think he would accept that invitation?

Luckily, the season doesn't start until after Sept 25th, so we don't really need his approval, we can wait. But I assume Carl would not prevent a trade.

Yeah, he would have a much better chance to prove himself with Phoenix where he could actually start than with us where he would have Scola over him, or possibly Amare if we re-worked the deal

When Barbosa was coming out (in the draft), one of his strengths was playing D.

I would love to go to the local Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the draft, but I gotta go to some stupid thing for my little sister tonight. Of all nights...
