All of these rumors confirm that Morey doesn't think the roster is as close as their series against LA might indicate, on which I strongly agree, but that doesn't mean they need a major reboot, either, so all this swing for the fence trade chatter is getting on my nerves.

T Mac for Vince Carter sounds a lot more sane than packaging Brooks for Amare. Then you pick up a veteran point guard and veteran big man and see how far that takes you.

Just woke up to this thread on the west coast, so I'm not plowing through the previous 20 pages...

I'm down with Tmac and Landry for Amare... he can play backup C and play a lot of minutes with Scola at PF to give Yao legit worry-free rest. While I really like what Landry brings, Amare would be an upgrade. (Assuming he can still see and plays a little D on occasion.)

I have questions about Brooks for Barbosa. I'd prefer that part not happen.

Cough, 21-9 as a 21 year old in his 2nd year without Nash.

    Lowry(29) Barbosa(19)
    Artest(17) Barbosa(16) Wafer(15)
    Battier(30) Artest(18)
    Amare(16) Scola(25) Hayes/Dorsey(7)
    Yao(31) Amare(17)

    Artest- 35
    Barbosa- 35
    Amare- 33
    Yao- 31
    Battier- 30
    Lowry- 29
    Scola- 25
    Wafer- 15
    Hayes/Dorsey- 7

Thats a fantastic 8-9 man rotation. The only weakness you can say is starting PG but we have a former 6th man of the year backing him up. Well rounded, balanced, championship caliber.

BTW for the Brooks/Barbosa comparisons, Barbosa is Aarons ABSOLUTE ceiling, and thats if he reaches 100% of his potential. Even then, he will not be 6'3 or shoot near 50% from the field. In other words, there is no comparison.

Same here, I could be wrong but wasn't the Battier trade on hold because we had signed Stromile too recently and we were sending him back to his former team or something like that.

I'm not crazy about Barbosa's contract. It goes for 3 more years, with the last being a player option... average about $7 million a year. These days, you might as well assume the player's going to sign for that last year. I'm not adverse to trading Brooks in the right deal, but for Barbosa?

Ohhh stop with the Battier trade. There is no way in hell Morey will get rid of Batter. He's the heart of our defense. So you guys need to stop it.

I was watching sportscenter, and ric bucher said it is a possibility that the suns will move Amare before the draft

You don't trade Brooks unless you've got another quality point guard in the bag. This trade talk is nuts, and I suspect it's because the Rockets knew ahead of time about Yao's foot not healing on schedule. Now, they're apparently in panic mode and looking for a franchise player still in their prime.

Why is it always draft day that the Rockets make their worst decisions?

for those who dont like this trade, what if Houston bought a late pick as well and landed Ty lawson?

    Lawson/lowry
    barbosa/wafer
    shane/ron
    amare/scola

Really?? $7 million is fair for a 6th man of the year. Also do you really think Aaron is better than Barbosa? We would be trading a 5'10 SG thats shoots 40% for a 6'3 SG that shoots 48%. Sounds pretty good to me.

I like Johnny Flynn better, but he won't be there in the late lottery, so I guess Lawson will have to do. He's Aaron Brooks with bulk & passing. :)

None of these trades matter to me. Yao Ming will get injured again and well be stuck out with no big man AGAIN.
