So the Rockets send their best trade assets and they still don't get Nash? What does Kerr say to Morey afterwards? "You're my b... now."?

    You give the right answer.
AB can't pass the ball and create the shot for other teammates.
So are you willing to let Brooks guide us to nba championship? of course not.

IMO stats are a bit overrated, but just take a look at %s:

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/aaron_brooks/index.html
    40.4% FG, 36.6% 3pters, 86.6% FT

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/leandro_barbosa/
    48.2% FG, 37.5% 3pters, 88.1% FT

Just those alone, with NO DOUBT Brooks getting more open 3 pt looks and Barbosa may get a bit better FG looks, but I'm sure he finishes stronger than Brooks does, simply due to the fact he is taller, which cannot hurt.

Numbers lie a bit because of who people play with, but really Brook's % should be higher than Barbosa's if nothing else because he had all sorts of open looks with Yao getting double teamed all over the place.

Phoenix wants to dump Barbosa so adding him is a bit of a pre-req. I suppose adding Cook and/or Dorsey into the mix makes it work. I wasn't suggesting that this type of blockbuster was impossible in my post above, just that it's unlikely in most cases given that teams lack the desire and/or ability to match $35M+ worth of tradeable contracts. I guess that's a luxury that we have.

I would think that Morey would at least ask for some lube with that trade so it goes down easier. For real that trade is bogus as hell.

    Yes, he's a 6-3 shooting guard.

Rofl because we don't get Nash.

Nash is AMAZING @ the Suns' offense. Even if we get Nash he will be no where near as effective with Yao on the floor. There is a reason Nash wasn't as good with Shaq, and he will be worse with Yao. Shaq is quicker and more athletic than Yao even at his old age. Imagine Nash with Yao....

Amare is worth our trading chips. Our trading chips are not GREAT like for some reason everyone on Cfans think. They are solid role players, they are far from anything more than that.

somethign is definitely gonna happen.. Phoenix Stan of brightsideofthesun.com is saying that Amare and Nash are on the way out.. i think we might get one of them (hopefully nash)

and Ric Bucher says Phoenix is gonna net a Chandler-esque player for Amare or Nash

that's exactly what I was thinking. This year's draft is jam packed with quality PGs all the way to mid 2nd round. I think they'll be more than able to buy a pick and draft a good PG if all this really falls through.

And Brooks is a 6'0" shooting guard, really doesn't matter. We need someone to bring ball up the court give it to Yao and be able to hit shots downtown. He can do all that. We aren't looking for a super fancy PG with Yao because it will go to complete waste.

Brooks is only about 4 years younger then Barbosa and been in the league only 2 years give me a freaking break man. Don't even try to compare them because Barbosa doesn't give the Lakers problems in the playoffs like Brooks did. Only way Brooks goes is for a pointguard and Barbosa aint it.

I know Nash is amazing in 7 seconds or less

but our need is completely different.. all that Nash needs to do with the rockets is to create shots in the 4 th quarter.. nothin more.. nothin less.. i am sure he can do that with ease..

and Nash running a typical RA Motion Offense would be fabulous..

the downside is.. Nash is a terrible defender..

Yes, I would take him. And if you want to talk trash about his defense you might want to add that he lead the league in charges taken resulting in you guessed it offensive fouls which leads to turnovers for the other team. Stop copying what Nash haters type and think for yourself.

This leaves us with a huge hole at PG. Do we get Dragic or the Suns pick atleast?

that's what probably started all the rumors that I have heard locally in the media today. I just hope the deal really happens and isn't some smoke screen that was put up to fool the world.
