Tsquare.. I know you are a Amare fanboy.. but giving up both Mandry and Brooks for a whiny PF is ridiculous.. I am all for T-Mac being traded.. but giving up young players ( the future) for Amare is not what we want.. in addition to that .. we are already strong at PF..

I hope we get something good along with Amare.. heck NO to Barbarosa..

 

We need a general on this team NOT a drama queen who thinks he should be their leading scorer. I'm not seeing Amare a good chemistry for this team.

 

you put Nash+fillers instead of Amare.. its a deal..

In the past year, it seems that AB is just a little bit better than Luther Head. But now, wow...he almost turns into Kidd or Nash.

 

In addition we already have Artest who is very volatile.. i love the guy.. but facts are facts .. some ppl say he behaved properly this season.. thats largely because of T Mac going down+contract year..

remember Clutch said before the trade deadline that Artest was creating trouble within the team.. and he said he would disclose it if Artest gets traded...

 

Kid or Nash? LOL. The kid can't even pass and with a low basketball IQ. The guy can't create open shots for his teammates.

Fine, since I'm the one who first used the word wash, let me clarify.

I was talking in the context of the trade; individually I'd rather have Aaron Brooks for his age and just because people may be looking at percentages and disregarding Barbosa's playing style and on-the-floor decision making.

Like I said, very mixed feelings about the trade. I could swallow it but I wouldn't make it if it were up to me. The main reason? There's gotta be something better, like a scoring wing.

Well you know what they say where there's smoke there fire I just have to laugh a little about the fact Clutch puts Amare in a Rockets uniform then this trade rumor comes out a day before the draft

 

EXACTLY!! I just don't get how those teams can get something without losing their core players ? Just give them Barry, Cook, Dorsey.

 

Aaron Brooks is not a P.G and never will be. What does Barbosa do worse than Brooks?

Rockets need offense in a bad way. Amare will give you that consistent scoring. Our P.Fs are good but not that good. We need more height, athleticism.

Am I the only one who thinks Kyle Lowry can start?

Tmac - contract value.

AB - @ his max possible value cuz of playoffs, guys it was a GREAT playoffs for us, but really he was there on every home game and disappeared in LA. I know he is young, but we need some consistency and really I think people are over-valuing him A LOT because of this playoffs.

Landry - solid player good for 9/7, maybe 16/10 if he starts and plays really good minutes esp. with Nash at the helm (prob his max potential is about 16/10).

WE GET:

Barbosa - I seriously think this guy is underrated because he plays behind Nash. If he comes to our offense I think he would run it AMAZINGLY. He is 6'3" (so a taller PG who can get the ball into Yao), he can shoot the spot up 3 just as good as AB can, and he can get to the rack, BUT the key is he will get to play in a controlled tempo offense, not a FRANTIC Steve Nash run offense, in that offense any backup PG would look bad because Nash makes it look so damn easy....

Amare - His eye crap worries me a bit, but come on. An All-Star PF who DEMANDS a double team next to an All-Star Center who DEMANDS a double team. This would be a SCARY SCARY SCARY starting 5: Yao, Amare, Artest, Battier, Barbosa (not to mention full of alliteration).

Also people keep talking about other steals... um Amare is >>>>>>>> Richard Jefferson. Jefferson has great numbers on paper with crappy teams where he can shoot a lot, how valuable is he if he doesn't get to control the ball a lot (I remember in NJ, he wasn't that good behind VC even when Kidd was running the show, he plays like a #1 option and I don't think he likes to not be the #1 option).

And Shaq is so far past his prime it is ridiculous. Getting rid of Shaq saves the Suns a S**T ton of money as well as nets them a 2nd round draft pick which may be part of a different package. But come on guys are you really saying Shaq OR Jefferson is worth what Amare is? There is a reason we have to give up some role players and these other teams did not.

I wasn't saying they were tied at the hip in a trade, they are tied at the hip in that if one goes they will both go and be traded away. Not necessarily on the same team just out of Phoenix. No way does Nash stay if Amare gets dealt.

 

I'm not in favor of getting Amare either. Brooks can't play the point,but I was surprised to see that Barbosa's assists were even lower than his(2.3 vs 3.4).

 

If this trade gets done i think it takes us getting there pic and maybe buying another one late in the draft to address our needs.And don't forget we still have the free agency period coming up.

 

Them giving away Amare and Nash to the same team? NOT going to happen sadly.

 

I'm fine with Tmac and landry or brooks for Amare + pick because most likely it would be Aaron getting traded away due to his higher value. And with that pick we could grab a point guard. I want nothing to due with barbosa, he's way overrated.
