Wow he doesn't look too good. Sad cause he was such an exciting player. Hopefully he gets his life together.
I heard from a source that used to be really close to him that he has an X and coke problem. Take it for what it's worth..... I believed it when I first heard it about 2 months ago but damn I didn't think he'd look this bad.
Not only is he not lifting but he definitely didn't lose that weight from Cardio or training if you know what I mean. Usually when former NBA players are washed up and out of the league they get relaxed and pack on the pounds... not turn into looking like a 21 year old Brandon Jennings. We know Francis turns into a chubby bunny when he doesn't train. It doesn't take a genius to figure out from the look of his face and body that he didn't " train " to lose all that weight to go play ball in China.
Man it sucks to see someone like Steve Francis who has so much potential coming into the league fell off the map that fast. I mean Baron Davis and Andre Miller both came into the league the same time Steve Francis did and both of them are still very good. At the early stages of their careers, Francis was a much better player than the other two but he fell of so quickly. What is wrong with Houston. I feel like thats been happening to our stars. Steve Francis, Tmac, and right about now, Yao Ming. I wish Steve Francis and Tmac both would still be great players until the day they retire.
Yeah its hard to say it but its the drugs that got him to lose some pounds. When Steve Francis resigned with Houston, he was out of shape and he was chubby. Plus I highly doubt he train hard and lost all those weights. Drugs have that effect on people. When people are using drugs like crack, meth, coccaine, etc, most of the time they're using drugs and not eat. Unlike weed, those hard drugs makes a person lose weight simply because when they're on them, they enjoy the high and forget about their hunger. This is sad. Steve was one of my favorite players coming into the NBA out of Maryland. Man he has so much potential and I knew he was great during college. I was so estactic that we made a trade for him and bringing him to Houston. But who would have know 11 years later, this is his outcome. I just hope he gets his life back together before it gets worst. Hopefully he realized it and get professional help. Not only that he looks skinny like Jennings, its a unhealthy skinny.
I don't see anything sad about this. It's good to see him still trying to ball, no matter what the circumstances. Sure he looks different but what do you expect? Drinking may have to do with it, but even without that, no one can stay 25 forever. And unless you know for sure, the drug speculations people are making are just silly. He looks skinnier, which could be a good thing, and it looks like he has something in his mouth; who knows, maybe he had surgery. And nothing wrong with getting 18 seconds in his first game in a very long while. Give the man some time to get adjusted before sticking a fork in him.
