Apparently you guys did not read the article I posted.

    .

you guys are going wayyyyyyyyy off course from this entire thread. This thread is suppose to be a positive thing for them and us. But yet you guys are finding every little nit-picking thing to be negative about. Read the last article I posted and find some middle ground with it.

Christians are just as dangerous as Muslims. If people really want to to serve god, it's not difficult to do so, serve the poor and love THY NEIGHBOR, even if they do things differently. Nevermind, it is difficult. Loving thy neighbor would mean no power, no money and most importantly no fear to sell for campaigns. Where is the fun in that?

Everyone should be happy for what the people of Libya managed to accomplish. Put yourself in their shoes. Trust me, dictatorships are not fun. I'm familiar with right wing dictarships, but I'm sure there are posters from cuba that are familiar with Castro's dictatorship. Wherever Libya's political structure goes from here, that's up to them. But that's the beauty of it, that it's in the hands of their people. But I guess that's just the communist in me. =/

forgive me, do you live in the United States or not?

there is nothing "spreading" here that would be any threat to "you and yours," whatever that even means...

The difference is that the Pope no longer has control of weapons or an army....they have no state, they exist within the confines of other state goverments, whereas Islam tries to impose it's will on governments, it is very dangerous, Christianity did that same crap back in the dark and middle ages.....and the Western world learned that it is a horrible thing to have state wide goverment based upon mythology/religion.....

Well Vatican City is a sovereign state. And they have the Swiss Guard (with Swiss pocket-knives), though I think that has less than 200 soldiers.

True, lol...but that is hardly the same thing as what they used to have, I think people got tired of fighting for the church, which is ironically opposite of what churches allegedly stand for......

He's speaking relative terms. Iraq was more stable under Saddam than it was in the immediate aftermath of his toppling. The same is likely going to be true for Libya.

The citizens are proving this will not be the case. We have no seen one major uprising to combat the rebels. The infrastructure is left intact, and they don't have military convoy's driving down the streets every 20 minutes.

Comparing Iraq to Libya is like comparing mud to red-clay.
