Here in Placedo (right outside Victoria for those that don't know), we got about 7 inches in our yard (1st time I've used a ruler all year). I actually saw "Placedo" up on the screen on the Weather Channel, which is pretty cool considering how small the town is. They had a snow measurement screen, with you guys having like 5 inches and us having like 4, IIRC(don't remember when they took those; I know we have had more than 4 for a little while). I've been acting like a crazy little kid out there. I tried to make a snow angel and thought I could just jump right in, but I ended up hurting my butt. I thought the snow would give a little more cushion. Still got to make my snow angel though, which I followed up with a quick dash inside to warm up (snow is cold!). We tried to make a snowman, but that didn't turn out too well. One of our neighbors made a pretty nice-sized one, maybe about 5-6 ft tall. I took some pictures of most of this stuff, but I probably won't check them out on the computer until tomorrow. If they turn out OK, I'll try to show them off, if I can figure out how. I think I can, but no promises. Of course, by the time I get them uploaded, this thread will be 4 pages back, no more snow, and there will be a low of 50 degrees. Snow is cool. I think I'm going to go play in it some more.
Just talked to my brother who is at work at one of the plants outside of Victoria... they have about 7-8 inches at the job site and it's still snowing!!
Picture taken a few minutes ago in Kemah. A blue egg covered in flour. A rat wearing a green sweater. Pops redneck smoker pit.
DT and I were at his family get together at Hwy 6 and Westheimer eating dinner when it started snowing really "hardcore".... So when everyone got done eating, we all ran outside and had snow fights and someone built a snowman. www.t-mobilepictures.com/meggo/myalbum/ password: rockets
This has been a weird weather year, the weekend before Thanksgiving we had 2 feet of water surrounding the house and a month later 7 inches of snow. There are 365 days in a year, maybe at the most 60-90 days of cold weather and what are the odds that the day we do get alot of snow it is Christmas Eve and early morning Christmas day, a million to one?
Here are a few I took tonight in Sugarland off of Highway 6 with my cousin Adrian (FrancisFan3) Me with a snowball my brother in law made a snow man and put it on top of his car my cousin hitting me with a snowball good times i say....
So how much snow have you all gotten down there? They said the final tally up here was 6 inches. You know what the funny thing is? My aunt is from Houston and she is up here for the holidays and has not been watching the weather down there and she schedule her plane to leave at 3:00 PM today instead of next Tuesday because she couldn't handle the conditions up here. LOL!
A lesson for the kids: Always rake the leaves in the yard if you are anticipating snow. Here's my kids' snowman:
I probably went to sleep around 3AM or so and it was still snowing. I woke up around 8 or so and I did the ruler thing again and got like 10 inches of snow in our yard, or at least some parts of it. Here are a few of the pics we took: (decided just to link them since they're pretty big) Yesterday afternoon/evening right before the snow really hit. Mostly just sleet and stuff during this time. We had to take a picture though since we thought this was all there was going to be...and yes, I whited out the license plate after the big deal earlier. Take note of how you can actually see the grass. Next day Here's the same car ...and um...yeah, I had to write something in it. Front Yard Back yard Chicken Just some random picture Nearby Basketball court If you can make out the concrete, you're good. Snowman This is the snowman from my neighbor's yard that I was talking about. This picture didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, but there it is. That's pretty much it for now. Hope I did everything right.
