Yea. I was just parroting the reports. None of us know what the Rockets were thinking and what they are thinking now. If Stone had an opportunity to trade the 3rd pick last year for a shot at the lottery this year and passed on it, he was a dumbass. This isn't hindsight on my part, it was what I was advocating for. If we kept the pick, I was for Reed or Dillingham.
On tankathon's mock draft, the website seems to want the Rockets to draft a backup big at 12. Either Khaman Maluach from Duke or Derik Queen from Maryland. I would be okay with either choice. With the new 2nd Apron rules, developing internal replacements is more valuable than before.
i'm not going to wish injury to any player. that's bad juju.....but it won't be surprising if they keep playing book and KD 40 minutes a night. if the suns drop to 9-10th in the standings then we will walk away with a great pick. this draft is loaded ya'll.
That's what's crazy about this situation. The Suns are this bad despite Booker and KD being relatively healthy. The Beal trade really screwed them.
Probably, unless it somehow ends up in the top 3. I’m not trading a top 3 pick in this draft towards anything less than a top 10 player in his prime.
Yeah, seems the pick will be dealt, either on draft night or a few weeks later before the drafted player can sign (in a deal already announced). @Houston77 More specifically, don't make me dream like that. I have wondered if the pick has any protections on it.
I feel like you cant go wrong with Maluach, he is a Capela clone those guys always translate. Like look at Mark Williams if he wasnt always injured dude would be a top tier center.
Guys, can someone explain if the Nets trade was a win as of today? If this draft is loaded, doesn't this pick have more value than a future down the road?
Odds are way against this. Dallas and SA are both going to tank and be rewarded with top 4 picks. I can't believe we get that lucky again. I'm with you, though. If we get a top 3 pick, I'm using it and we won't have to worry about Booker or Durant next year.
If we don't make that trade, the Nets MIGHT (big MIGHT) not have made the Bridges deal. Instead, they would have likely pushed to devalue their pick (that we had). In the LEastern conference - with the talent that they had - they could have easily been 4 or 5 seed headed into the playoffs. But I guess we'll never know...
I REALLY liked Kal'el Ware + Reed. Reed looked like what we needed, but I was hoping we could get both with a small trade down. (I was being super greedy)
At least Draft wise, I’m not sure how it looks on paper for the actual season. If a 7th seed falls out of the playoffs and the 10th seed makes it through the play in tournament, the 7th seed would draft at best 14th and the 10th at worst 15th So in that situation is it a technical surpass of standings? I’m just talking **** mostly fellas
