Draft a SF/PF/C - (Trey Murphy III Type) Tari Eason health is a problem, Cam Whitmore unstable. 1. Get a Shooting PG in Free Agency. Derek Fisher Type. Cheaper Deal. If only Aaron Holiday was taller, he would start. Drafting a Rookie PG they are never ready, especially playing for Ime Udoka.
Keep the Suns Picks and avoid Devin Booker, Kevin Durant. Their Contracts are poison. They will kill the Team Salary Cap.
on the real, this is one of the strongest draft classes in recent memory. i'd be really hesitant to let this pick go, especially considering we are going to be in a financial pickle in the near future. having contributors on team friendly contracts is going to be crucial for setting up our championship window. these kids looks pretty good and mocked around the 9-12 pick.
man, you are so right on this. If anything, draft picks are more valuable now than they have been in decades. It’s the best way to acquire low-cost high-level talent and it’s essential for managing the cap as you start maxing guys. I do think u eventually have to churn through players; evaluate them over time and make decisions. There is a limit to how many rookies and inexperienced players u want on your team. Too many talented guys who can’t get on the court is a good problem to have but it also tanks their value and can hurt development. I definitely think the rockets can absorb another high level prospect (I honestly dont think they have to make any moves until 2026 when they’ll have to figure out what they want to do with Cam). But it would be much better if they figured out what they want to do with Jalen this offseason. Moving on from Jalen would free up another max slot, create more minutes for our other prospects like Cam and Reed, and allow us to keep using the draft effectively. I don’t have a handle on his value but we might still get some sort of return (albeit it all depends how he plays the rest of the season). so I agree with you; let’s keep using these picks if we aren’t blown away by some offer. But let’s also make a decision on Jalen so we know how much of a prospect logjam we’re looking at.
I don't think Jalen is on the trading block this off-season regardless of his play. He would only be involved if its a blockbuster trade. His and Amen's development should be paramount the rest of this season. Unless we can get Ant or Giannis we should just pick a youngster. Our young team is coming along nicely. Jalen, Sengun, Amen, Jabari, Cam and Tari are all still very young but developing into a contender even so.
That specific poster has a history of acting as if Green not being part of the long term future is 100% matter of fact objective truth that is an inevitability. Just search "Green" with that username and you'll see what I mean.
Hey if Jalen plays well the rest of the season, that’s great, but eventually you have to either commit to a player or churn through if you are drafting in the high lotto every year, which has been the case. So if we are gonna add an 8th core prospect I think it’s prudent to evaluate the 7 prospects you have and consider if it makes sense to commit to everyone. Maybe it does. But the way I see it, Cam and Reed are too young to know what you really have and are early into their rookie-scale contracts. Amen, Tari, Bari have to be extended. And Sengun is locked in on a long term extension. I mention Jalen only because he’s making big money going forward, and has underperformed. But I agree with the premise that we shouldn’t be in any big hurry to make a trade and we should embrace the prospect of drafting with that 25’ Suns pick.
I think we are in violent agreement. There is just no immediate need to move Jalen, unless it's for a difference maker. At some point, we will have to move on from some of our guys, but that time is a couple of years away, unless a golden opportunity for an Ant-like star becomes available.
Hornets choking this one away, sheesh. Booker's regressed alot since the year they went to the finals, would not want to pay him 55mil/year. Rather just keep developing Jalen Green and draft lotto players with Suns picks.
I almost feel like we have an obligation to sabotage Jimmy getting to Suns and turning their season around (& hurting our pick)
Watching these Suns games lately, and you see how dysfunctional some teams are. LaMelo screaming for the ball and his teammates bricking 3s nearly giving the game away, there is no way he is going to be there past his second contract. They had not won a home game since November, and any game since Dec 8th, and somehow KD and Book lose by double digits, incredible.
This Hornets loss somewhat offsets the win against Philly. Ideally it would have been the other way around so that Philly got the win in the standings. However, no big loss, I am optimistic Philly will still pass PHX in the standings by seasons end.
