Not only that, we have too many players and not enough minutes already. We need to make a consolidation trade.
Just start Reed Sheppard and see what he's got for a season. The second seed was great but you need a Curry lite in the playoffs.
We dont have enough players. We have a lot of chaff but actual rotation players Ime is confident in is too few. FVV, Jalen, Amen, Tari, Jabari, Sengun, Adams, DB -> these are the only players who are Ime approved. We need more guys Ime would like. There is basically no replacement or depth when Jalen and/or FVV playing like garbage there is no backup.
all I know is Sheppard needs to play meaningful minutes way before the playoffs I think he’ll be a rotation guy next year. As far as starting he’s gotta earn it from Ime
To be clear, we are both saying our roster needs improvement. The context of my statement that you replied to was agreeing FA is not a great option. I see us doing the biggest upgrade through a trade.
I believe the max they can pay him is $14.3M, which is slightly above MLE. He may take a little less to stay, but who with cap space is going to give him $17-20M?
Need the Pacers to wrap up that series in 5 and I think there’s a chance Giannis starts thinking about asking out. Dude dropped 34/18/7 on 14/20 shooting tonight and lost.
I'm just gonna say what everyone else is thinking. FVV, Whitmore and the #9 pick for Giannis. Am I right? Am I right??
Yeah, he seemed frustrated as hell in his presser after the game. If he becomes available you do whatever it takes as long as it doesn’t gut the roster.
I can't see him getting 20-30m in free agency, only two teams have more than 20m in cap space. Brooklyn at 91.8m and Detroit at 24.6m. The next two teams are Chicago at 19.8m and Houston (If they decline FVV's option) at 19.2m. Memphis is next at 17.5m. That's the top 5 teams in cap space .... Maybe someone does a S&T for him at 20-30? But that comes with its own set of issues - hard capped at 1A. I doubt many of the big names who have player options opt out unless they have bird or early bird rights and resign with that team .... there just isn't much money out there to be had. Of the players that do hit FA, many will be looking for NT-MLE money. After that, its downhill .... Speaking of Brooklyn - let's hope they screw this up for the sake of the 27 pick. Looking at the FA list - 2025 NBA Free Agents - who the hell do they spend that $91.8m on?
He has a player option. Assuming he opts out he has early bird rights in Minny. Minny can pay him 175% of this year's salary - $13,986,432 which equates to $24,476,256. Only two teams can offer more in FA, one of those by a total of $156,734(Detroit). The other is Brooklyn, the only team with a max slot. Minny is an interesting situation, 2A team this year .... They need to get rid of Randle or hope he declines his player option - can't see that happening, no one is paying him $31m next year on a new deal besides Minny who could be stuck with him and have to decide to pay the penalty for 2A or let Naz walk,
$12.42 million. - 104.5% of the league average salary of $11.9 million. Early bird allows for 175% of the previous years' salary or 104.5% of the league average salary in the first year of the deal. That was my question to @bluffkin .... there aren't many teams with cap space. I'd wager he ends up with MLE money. If the Rockets are interested, the best course of action is to decline FVV then retain those FA's you want to keep (Adams?) pushing you over the cap, offer the NTMLE $14,104,000 which is more than Cleveland can offer and this keeps the team below the 1A ..
Pull up a chair, friend. As we know: Luka is where the league wants him: keeping LeBron around, lest the ratings further plummet. Ant-Man is where the league wants him: freezing his ass off in a city somewhat off the player-favorite radar.
We could help them out with a sign and trade where we send expiring contracts and a good draft pick (even this year’s if we stay in the 9-12 range. Naz would be a great fit for this team
