By the way, I did a little digging and got a list of advertisors on that radio station...

I plan to e-mail all of the companies and tell them about the stunt and hope they severe ties with the radio station. Especially considering these DJs don't seem to be getting properly reprimanded by their bosses.

Yeah, who could've thought that something like this would get media attention. Truly amazing. I mean, who among us hasn't taunted and harrassed a recent widow? It has been over three months. Who wouldn't think she'd be ready to joke about her husband's death?

<i>According to Artigue, Duran has a problem "understanding good taste from bad." </i>

Well gee genius, that tells us all we need to know about your judgement in talent.

<i>Artigue said the morning crew's action was "guys being guys, but terribly bad taste in my opinion."

Asked about possible consequences to Duran, Artigue said, "In all honesty, if I put people on suspension or fired them . . . there's a thousand things that morning shows do on a monthly basis that are far more concerning."</i>

Oh yeah me and my friends call people up everyday joking about deceased loved ones. They always find it hilarious! What an idiot, and things far more concerning? The good news is that this idiot isn't going to get away with it because this thing has gone out world wide.

<i>We are truly amazed on how this turned into a media circus and we deeply regret the turmoil that it caused people all over the country. Beau Duran would like to personally apologize to the follwoing for the unnecessary grief that this media mishap created</i>

Yeah this is ALL the media's fault. Go up to Fernando Vina and Andy Benes and the rest of the Cards and see if they think it's a "media circus". We'll see what Edmonds thinks of it. The ironic thing was that the D-Backs players were JUST as angry! And the D-Backs organization is going after that piece of crap DJ and his sorry @ss boss.

OK, its obvious that I'm in the overwhelming minority here, but did all they do is tell the lady that she was "hot" ?

I mean if they called her and talked about her husband being a piece of crap and etc, that would be horrible....but did they do anything other than just joke around about taking her out on a date?

Asking a widow if she had a date to see the team her deceased husband had played for just a few months ago is pretty bad, don't you think? Not to mention, it was in a very public forum.

Just in case no-one has seen this, they have suspended the "personality" in question, for "at least a week".

If that station wants to stop the bad publicity, they did to get rid, and now.

You don't see anything wrong with a bunch of clowns calling up a woman's house and asking her on a date when it's common knowledge that her husband died suddenly 3 months ago and that's the reason they called? They called purposely to rub that in her face there's no way around that. I mean how much of a coincidence is this, St Louis is in town to play the D-Backs, Darryl Kile died 3 months ago, and a bunch of DJs just HAPPEN to call the widow of Darryl Kile and ask if she has a date knowing her husband is dead, and had just died months earlier, how is that just "joking around about taking her out on a date"!?

That's not what you need. Someone has posted contact info for the advertisers...that's who can hurt this guy since the managent is too moronic
to see things as they are. they will get it when all their advertising pulls out. Hopefully, with the lasting relationship btwn the Busch family and the Card the will quickly pull out.

BTW congrads on that asswhippin of the DBACKS. Even though they do not support the actions of the radio station, tonight has to be a little sweeter.

Win the World Series for Flynn and the family, we'll be watching...
