They still are. Sandwiches are under $3 and they don't skimp on the meats. I used to go to Cali's but am a dedicated Les Givral customer now. Cheaper, bigger, and just as good.

My go to is and always will be Thim Hing for sandwiches across the street from Hong Kong City Mall. Their bread to me is just better than other breads, which are too overly crispy on the outside, and not enough chew. Their bread, crispy, but also chewy, and their meats, especially the meatball with the sauce is better than any other sandwich shop ive had. Excited to try the other banh mi places to compare.

Yeah, I like to go to restaurants that are "trendy". Then Ill look on the table to see what kind of knife they offer. Most of the times its a butter knife, so I proceed to ask the waitress for a sharper knife from the kitchen or at least a steak knife. Then....
    here comes the whammy....
I stab my eyes out with it, because thats what I get for going to a "trendy" spot instead of to a restaurant thats not "trendy" but known for its food.

Experienced the Ramen trend in Austin in a place called Ramen Tatsuya. Line was out the door so it had to be good right? It was ten dollars for a bowl with one meat. Each additional meat was another $1-2 plus AND they charge for $1-2 for various "bombs", which was nothing but a tiny cup of hot sauce. Is that normal?! My bowl was about $13! Is that just Austin prices? I definitely was not impressed.

We don't do tripe. When we do use it, it's separate from the broth. Just boil, cold water it down and slice.

We don't do tripe because we can't find any good sources for it. Vinegar washing it to remove the smell isn't too appealing.

Not really unfortunately. Closest is Pho Bin on Westheimer and Fountain View but not that great.
