Thoughts from Philly fans on Iguodala. I guess easy to say some of this since they are a losing team though maybe it is true?

Sí, I've seen all games. The point is Yao and T-Mac, or Kobe, or whoever you have at that role. Then he has proven to be an elite role player under those circumstances. Stars are not only what they do directly but how they improve his partners. Ariza is now something alike that "star" so figure it out...

Are you kidding me. I named three off the top of my head and threw a Rocket in because this is a Rockets forum. One is one of the top 3-4 players in the league. What is undersized to you? Taylor is 6'4" and 210lb. He's probably as heavy or heavier than than the average SG and maybe 2 inches shorter. Was Von Wafer undersized? He was 6'5" and the same weight as JT. Ray Allen is only an inch taller and 15lb lighter.

What do yall think would make the Rockets better:

A trade for Al Jefferson or a trade for A. Iguodala?

If thats the case, Hey Bud lets part ways.

No doubt Elton Brand is severly overpaid. If you're into stats it'd reveal Brand AS A RESERVE compared to Carl Landry :
    Brand FG% - .551
    Landry FG% - .551

    Brand Reb/G - 5.8
    Landry Reb/G - 5.4

    Brand Pts/G - 15.1
    Landry Pts/G - 16.2

Blocks about the same, Brand rusty now but probably still a better defender than Landry.

I dont want Brand, but if that albatross ever landed in Houston thats a way to justify it by saying he can equal Landry's numbers.

From your words to the trading gods ears on the Tracy, Lowry, Taylor, Cook and 1st rounder for Iggy, Dalembert and Speights. I would label Morey a god if he could pull that off with Speights included, Speights is going to be really really good. Although losing Lowry would hurt.

AJ is not necessarily a need, SG(though not necessarily AI9 but he is probably the best you can get) is a need. But I'd trade for Jefferson.

The quotes you posted are the results of his sucky performances lately, just take a look at his game log. He's had some Ariza-esque shooting games...

Iguodala is so horribly overpaid, it's not even funny. I am SHOCKED that so many of you want him.

    2010/11 $ 12.4M
    2011/12 $ 13.5M
    2012/13 $ 14.7M
    2013/14 $ 15.9M (player option)

    Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Agreeing to take on Brand means that we think a core of Yao/Iggy/Brooks/Landry and the rest of our role players plus Brand is capable of winning a championship- we would be gridlocked with contracts and be paying the luxury tax. I have serious doubts about that team going all the way, especially with Yao's health.

This is an absolutely crucial time of transition. If we do the wrong thing with this money, we are stuck for a while in early playoff exits and then rebuilding.

Sounds like a lot of the crap that you see here. People hate their star players when the team isn't winning.

Dalemberts presence would really elevate the rockets on the defensive side of the ball. Big time.

I cant believe the number of people who actually want to take on Iggy and his diminishing returns. At 56 million left on the contract included with Ariza's 30 plus million, your talking about 90 million in payroll over the next four years for two players who are at best C to B players.

Think people. 90 million, 4 years. What is that going to do to the Rox chances over the next four years. Years more of mediocre basketball.

I know alot of you have your panties all bunched up over getting to the second round last year, but I beg for a little vision please. I would like to see my team be an actual contender over the next 5 years. Its now been almost 15 years since the Rockets have been anything other than a middle of the road, first round playoff fodder (one second round run isnt changing much) type team.

JUST SAY NO!!! Id much rather let TMac fall off the books than take Iggy's near 60 million.

    Well said.

There is no shortcut. The rockets need lottery picks to rebuild.

    42% on 14 shts/g, 32% on 4 3pt/g, 77% on 5.1 FT/g, 5.7 asts, 6.8 reb, 2.6 TO
    37% on 15 shts/g, 29% on 6 3pt/g, 65% on 3.5 FT/g, 3.6 asts, 5.6 reb, 2.4 TO

Highly paid yes, but superior to Ariza in just about every way.

WHOAAAAA.BRO. r u kidding????????I ws gonna go to my class but now I cant believe I saw such a mindblowing headscratcher argument that Im just gonna sit here and argue with all these anti-AI9 fans about this supposed "bad contract"

just because he gets paid heaps does not mean hes got a bad contract.....no one ever says vince carter is overpaid........HES THAT GOOD. end of argument....

so u'd rather spend that money on a max-money rashard lewis than a legit 2nd banana that can ultimately win us a championship for real???

Sorry. Draft picks are just for re-tooling and re-fueling and not to REBUILD. We don't have time to rebuild. We can only hope to draft a stud like how Joe Dumars drafted Tayshaun Prince and go for a championship immediately after. we don't have the time or the environment to rebuild.
