Houston: Phillys #8 pick, Dalembert (1/year), Williams (3/year), Speights (2/years)

Philly: Amare (player option), Richardson (1/year), McGrady (expiring)

Phoenix: Brand (3/years), Illguaskus (expiring), Houstons #14 pick, Hickson

    Cleveland: Iggy (4/years)

Well look at it closely. Before many people were willing to move Landry in the deal to land Amare.

Many would probably prefer to keep Landry rather then to move him to land Iggy. Dalembert comes off the books next year which is something people need to examine closer. Yao/Dalembert/Battier and who else comes off the books. That is quite a bit of cap space. Then you have to use Dalembert to resign Landry and Brooks. I think asking for more is clearly pushing it with the other teams. Most would say no way Phoenix will do that. I think Nash would help Brand and Hickson is a back-up solution. If not they still have that pick. If not then they still have cap space to consider. Philly probably will do it just to move Brand. At worst Amare opts out and McGrady walks. They face a problem that fans don't show up. So if both go. They have the cap space believe that. Cleveland gets Iggy. Do we need Iggy? I don't think so. We'll take our chances for a higher pick assuming they start losing more. There is not much ground they can make up to make it a 9-10 pick, they have more to ground to lose to make that pick a top 6-8.

I too don't mind this trade. True we don't get a shake up, but we get more young assets.

While i like lou williams though, I don't know if we can deal with another undersized guard. Yes he is taller than brooks, but he still has a PG's body and plays like a SG.

Best thing would be that Lou makes Brooks expendable. Brooks is a fringe allstar plyaer and could command agreat trade.

Still want Iggy & Amar'e in a 3 way, but dang, that is nice too. But even a desperate GS ownership does not do that.

That deal is a bag of ass. Why make that deal if we are not getting the one person we really want and need.... Iggy.

Williams is redundant because we already have AB and Lowry. Dalembert is helpful coming off of the bench maybe but taking him is suppose to be our sacrafice for taking Iggy's bloated salary. And we loose our 1st round pick this year as well? We have not even fixed our shooting guard spot.

    No Way.

We give up Tmac and our 14th for Phillys #8 pick, Dalembert (1/year), Williams (3/year), Speights (2/years).
I think i'd be happy with that, even though we don't get the impact player we are looking for, its always better than nothing!

Many people have already discussed it. Iggy is not who you build around and have him lead your team. His contract makes signing players difficult once the CBA rules kick in. Williams is a SG, not long-term however. We throw in our pick only so Phoenix takes on Brand. It's a move-up the draft swap, except Philly insist we give it to Phoenix for taking on Brand.

We are not building around Iggy. I dont understand why people say this. If we are building around someone it would still be YAO! Iggy would be a perfect fit in this system with YAO! Iggy would even fit in with this TEAM but as Rick Adelman has already demonstrated there is no one on this team that will act like a superstar. We score by committee until Yao get back and then he will be our #1 option to go to.

While i like Iggy, he just don't put Houston in a good position after Yao and we already know that he'd have to step-up. Is that something your willing to risk for 4 years?

Has any 6er permutation of a deal not been tossed out, perhaps multiple times? Or Phx. Sac. Let's start working on Bulls scenaria, ok?

    Ewww.... bad trade.
1- its a 1 for 3 trade, who do you cut?
2- PG is a position that Rox is pretty solid at. So Lou Williams will be redundant.
3- Another PF in speights? With Scola, Landry, Hayes and Dorsey in the squad....
4- Sam's contract which basically seals the deal of any chance of resigning Lowry and Scola.
5- No way Suns trade Amare and Richardson for Big Z and Brand. Pick and Hickson is just not a big enough compensation.

How can we possibly build around Yao when no one know's if he'll even come back healthy? Haven't we been doing that for 6 years already? Where has that gotten us?

That's my point, I don't believe we are building around any single person, and yes if Yao does come back healthy we fit players that compliment him. With that said, iggy would not be the sole person we build around.

I actually like that deal, mostly because it brings us two assets (Lou/Speights) we can use in other trades and gives us (hopefully) a lower draft pick in the draft. All for just Tmac and our #1? Sure.

Basically I see that deal as using McGrady to get us a better draft pick than the one were currently own for the current draft, two young assets that teams would covet (Speights moreso than Lou), and a legitimate backup center for Yao for the next season.

If we did a deal like this, I'd expect Morey look to put a package together (Speights/Brooks/Landry?) for a legitimate star. Cleveland, Miami, Toronto.. I think Landry/Brooks/Speights would be THE ideal SnT for them. More salary would have to be added to make the salaries match (Dalembert expiring?), but I think the core of any such deal would be centered around our young guys.

Either way, a move like this just further stocks us up in young assets to pursue a tier one superstar. This seems like a move we'd do in order to set us up better in a later deal.

Iggy alone won't, I agree. I'm sure that if me and you know that, DM definitely knows that. It's going to take multiple moves, but Iggy would be a good start
