I wouldnt even be against bringing Raja Bell back. He wont contribute anythign this year.. probably out till May (heard it on SR610). He's a great defender, excellent shooter. Doesnt need the ball in his hands to be effective. He'd be an excellent fit in RA's system.

NBA owners have sent an initial proposal to the NBA Players Association and they are pushing for a "hard" salary cap, CBS Sports has learned.

In addition, owners are requesting a drastic reduction in player salaries.

The proposal was sent to the union earlier this week and seeks a reduction in the players' share of basketball-related income from 57 percent to well below 50 percent, according to a report.

Owners also are seeking some aspects of a hard cap -- a departure from the current luxury-tax system -- and a reduction in the length and amount of max contracts.

According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, the two sides will meet during All-Star weekend for their first face-to-face bargaining session as they try to reach an agreement before the current deal expires in 2011.

Imho i think if he is traded the organization is going to regret it. Why lets see. They trade him and everything goes great. Cool. They trade him for someone who somehow doesn't fit and look. Wasted a huge chunk of expiring that goes to another team. All in all why would they risk trading him when they have only 2-3 months left of his services.

We are struggling now. I saw if we continue to struggle why not say f it and let him play so he can earn a contract. No need for the organization do what they are doing and have other potential free agent targets look at what the organization is doing and think twice about signing with the Rockets.

The Mavs are involved in “due diligence’’ regarding entering trade discussions with the Sixers for Andre Iguodala, sources tell DallasBasketball.com. And they add that there are three specific debate points – and in conflict with some published reports, one of them is not having to take on the contract of Samuel Dalembert, but rather having to take on the contract of Elton Brand.http://www.dallasbasketball.com/fullColumn.php?id=2524

This is what I initial thought when I heard the Rox had interest but as more rumors came out I kind of thought the Sixers really did want the cap space...WRONG. I say move on and make Butler/Haywood happen if thats plan B.

    Tonight...

Butler 31 points 9 boards and 2 dimes with 1 steal while leading a 21 point really in Orlando, think he is ready to be traded?

You know we would be playing him at the 2 even if thats night his primary position...I will say this, I've seen him play the last few games and he has a decent handle and nice jumper so he would be ok at the 2 spot unlike Battier and Ariza who are obviously look, and act most of the time, out of position.

hey guys, its obvious when Yao comes back, others will score less since Yao has to take shots also. We already have alot of weapons, then you add yao.

Do you really want to add another weapon when there is only 1 ball. And that weapon would cost about 15 million in 3 years .

Look at it this way, when Yao comes back ,the offense runs through Yao,he needs outside shooters (so you automatically scratch Iggy off list, clutch is right)

Yao will be option 1, brooks is option 2, landry will be starting and be option 3.I say this because Luis is a FA.

Do you want to pay iggy 15 million to be option FOUR ? I didnt think so. and yes I firmly believe that brooks > iggy or butler

I would love to have iggy or butler or amare, but ITS NOT SMART. Amare is very good, he is not as good as Bosh, and yet he wants MAX.

We are building a "detroit pistons" style team 2004,with alot of smart, hard working, reasonably paid weapons. If you throw money at iggy/dalembert or amare you are gutting the future core to pay for amare, while at the same time if he gets injured we are screwed.

The time of "2 superstars to build around" only works if you have the best player in the league. Kobe,Mj,Lebron,Karl Malone,Hakeem, ...Amare or iggy isnt in that class yet they get paid that way. I put Yao there, but we dont know yet how healthy he will be. We need outside shooters that penetrate,I like Taylor and Budinger. We need to package ariza/tmac or battier/tmac because battriza is the weak link. But Im sure Morey can find something cheaper than Iggy or Butler. And the fact that people Like MArk Cuban are now trying to get iggy, only boosts iggys value making it harder for us to get him. So thank Mark Cuban for screwing us over.

Cuban is trying to "one up" morey by spending more money than Les. Its okay though, because Im not sold on iggy anymore after reading what clutch wrote. Im not sold on Butler because I havent seen him play in 6 years. Morey will go for Wilson Chandler or John Salmons , he always goes for that player that doesnt get much spotlight. Also the more we keep winning, the less likely Morey destroys the core.

You guys keep forgetting. Iggy has a max contract but it's not max like Kobe's, Lebron's, DWade's, or the rest. He's making $12 million per season. Look at what the other max guys are making. Joe Johnson?? Contract expiring at $14 million+. What exactly is it going to take to sign him next season??? Come on now. Iggy's contract is reasonable.

I watched the 2nd half and he was unstoppable. I truly think he's a player with more pure talent than Iguodala. He's only having a difficult season on a difficult team. A change of team, new chemistry, and you have a new Butler. I saw him in good shape, fast, cutting, dunking... And he's 29, not 34 like sometimes people seems to think.

I think Iggy has many girlfriends around the league and currently would be more accessible a trade for Butler.

I've said it before, the outside shooters aspect is overrated and the offense running through yao. They need to have the best players possible and iggy wouldn't be a 4th option. Iggy, yao, and brooks would share the duties of the self proclaimed #1 option. I don't think either are good enough to hold the title, but all 3 are good enough to do it within the flow of the game. Its like the #1 receiver debate when the patriots won 3 titles without one. Just get alot of good players and adelman will work it out and make it work.

Just watch the game philly vs NO. Just can't wait for the big annoucement that Iggy will be joining rox. He have a very good scoring first half and what he did in the 2nd half? Play harder on defense and pass the ball.

Some may not like his contract, but in terms of fitting in this team, his better than everyone in the SG position bar Wade. Yes, in terms of fitting in THIS team, his better than Johnson and even kobe. And to make it even sweeter, his almost the same age as the core of AB, Landry, Lowry and Ariza.

    Celtics

    Basketball

Underestimated everyone, giving a reason for someone who isn't on our team isn't really a reason.

I'd like to think we want to make the best basketball team possible. Not just the hardest working team possible.

Spurs and contradicting 1 ball theory

get NBAtv, you could be right
