A lot of times it does. Look at the Lakers, C's, etc. Les has been a great owner, but he's gonna have to spend with the big boys if he wants to contend with them.

I'm sure they make a lot, and Iguodala and Dalembert don't place us in their territory. If we shed assets in the deal and acquire some of Philadelphia's younger players we would probably still be in Lux Tax land, but not $90m+

THIS is why it's a much better idea to try to get Butler/Haywood if we can keep our core intact!

Well, for one we get to re-scale Yaos contract.

There is also a guy named Kevin Durant that hits the open market that year too. But after reading your Iggy analysis, you probably have him ranked about 3 tiers below.

OKC is doing a damn good job with Durant

let's hedge our bets on him leaving that improving situation after he likely gets a taste of the playoffs this year

The BIG BOYS also have an arena with everyone in their seats buying food, beer, and other merchandise. Unless we put together another 22game winning streak, our arena WILL NEVER BE A PACKED HOUSE.

If we can bring in LEBRON, then maybe we have a chance. But not even the 2004-2005 TMAC and YAO team (missed 8 games combined) could bring in 20,000+ every night.

I never said bet the farm on Durant, but he is one example of someone that could available, and a Washington trade would give us the flexability to offer him a max deal.

But I'm sure you know better, since your fiance lived upstairs from him in Austin at the Riverside apartments on Oltorf rd. Oh snap, thats me.

Not really 'open market' since he'll be restricted. No matter what ties he has to any team or cities, the Thunder can just match any max offer he recieves and he'll have to like it ;) Not to mention they can offer him more as he's their own player...

So we're supposed to hold off on trying to make our team better, for the CHANCE to sign Durant 2 years from now???? We're talking about a possibility to sign him, not that it's 100% done deal that we'll sign him. And dont you think OK is going to build around him and lock him up?

He was just one example, like I said, Im not betting the farm on him, but good players will be available next summer too.

DUDE, look at their attendance in games! Rockets have NEVER had that kind of attendance! Its much more difficult to spend that kind of money when you dont have revenue coming in from the fans.

Boston and Lakers games are ALWAYS sold out and the house is always PACKED.

The point is he knows what teams he needs to showcase for.the wiz are not going anywhere this year so whats the point of going all out.and risk injury.

dallas deal was barea, howard, dampier, gooden for iguodala, brand, green

that was a pure salary dump type trade. they arent sure they want brand and we arent sure we want to do a deal that doesnt give us a young piece.....
