Is there anything in that video that he couldn't do on a better team and coach this year or next?

If the deal were Iggy/Kopono/Williams - McG/Lowry ... and Kopono's expiring could be moved readily, does it become a fiscally sensical transaction?

They would but not for what we'd offer. If the Knicks offered them Lee, expiring contracts and picks, they would accept. But for us there's no reasonable offer for just Iggy. But for example, Tmac/Brooks/Landry for Iggy and another contract they would probably accept.

I think once they threw Williams in the original offer that was the deal breaker. They definately would need not Williams, but Speights to make up losing Scola in the offseason. To take Williams on, they'd need Young and Rox would offer what ever they need besides Brooks/Landry. They need Scola take em. They need Cook take em. They need Ariza take em. They need Budinger take em.

McGrady/Ariza/Lowry for those mentioned players Rox might do it.

    McGrady/Scola/Lowry/Hayes/Budinger take em.

This is the only deals i see feasible.

Speights is a project player worth losing Budinger or Ariza. Always go with the big fella.
Young is getting better, like Budinger has more room to grow.
Williams is decent, but a bit overpaid, good enough to swap 13th pick for 7th pick over.

Then after that it's essentially a McGrady for Dalembert/Iggy swap.

I understand all of that very well...

I am not one of these people that believes that we will be in rebuilding mode when Yao expires. I also believe that we have no shot at landing a superstar player. Chris Bosh is not walking through that door. So where does that leave us?

As has been explained, we can not hope to make great improvements through free agency or the draft, unless we are looking to rebuild for a post Yao championship run. Since I do not think that is realistic nor intelligent, I am going to assume that we are still planning to build around Yao and Aaron Brooks.

I am not for just any deal to get Andre Iguodala. If you can get adequate replacements for Kyle Lowry and Luis Scola, and maybe a draft pick, it is certainly something to be considered. I do believe that Andre Iguodala is THAT much better than Caron Butler in our current system.

I understand that Caron Butler gives us the opportunity to rebuild If need be, but I think that shows a lack of commitment to winning a ring. Cost aside, I think DM can build a championship roster with Aaron Brooks, Andre Iguodala and Yao Ming as the staples for the next 3-4-5 years.

Please enlighten me on how to build a team that can take championships form the Lakers that includes Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood, that would also require us to send one of our current roleplayers to Washington.

We have no chance of landing a player of that kind. Would you rather just wait and rebuild? At what point do you say, "Shoot, it's time to go all-in."

Yao is our star, and he is a more dominant force than Bosh when he is healthy.

Aaron Brooks and Andre Iguodala would be our "semi-stars" If you will.

The only way to win a championship is to have a superstar, Yao can be that player, I believe that. If we are looking for a superstar other than Yao, we might as well start tanking now, because we would be about 4-5 years away from contending. Yao is a once in a lifetime player. Despite the injuries, I think it would be foolish to try and find another one, and we ARE NOT going to get one with McGrady, or in free agency.

We are not getting a star. Iggy is the best we can really hope for at this point.

    This.

I think Morey is going to make an lower trade, a trade that maybe wasn't really talked about and/or a trade where many will likely be disappointed since it wasn't a big name or hot trade.

This trade has been mentioned but is a "lower" trade - with the Bulls.

Salmons, Miller, and Ty Thomas or Salmons, Miller, James. Not a hot trade, but works(or I'm pretty sure it does).

There's nothing that says NYK is ready to part ways or trade Hill.

There was actually a report a few weeks back that the Bulls were near the top of our wish list. Most likely because of Noah but I do think they will could strike a deal without him.

Me personally, I think that Morey will realize that the ideal trade that he's been looking for the past few months is just not out there and let Tracy expire. If not, it will be a simple deal like you posted.

Letting Tracy expire is as dumb is letting Amare expire.

We will see ;) I'd be surprised if we made a move with the Knicks in general.

Seems like it could be likely. I'm betting our deal is from left field. Something nobody seen coming. I'm sure most of the board will be disappointed we didnt net a "star" in whatever deal we do.
