any one named brooks , scola , lowry or landry should not be mentioned in any trades unless we are getting a all-star level player that plays the same position.

The only way I would be ok with trading scola is if we pulled a rafer.

What I mean by that is that we get a very solid power forward in a trade that involves scola, that catch is that we move Carl to the starting spot and move that power forward we accuire to play the backup forward \center role.

This would give Carl even more room to grow. That would be the only reason why I could see that Morey would trade scola.

That and out of all our trade assets he is the second oldest at 29 shane is 31

I'm sure there will be a third team involved. I'm not a big fan of Dalembert! Read last week, Sacramento was interested in him, so maybe they can be the third team and take Dalembert. Also, not sure if I'm ready to give up some of our core young players either.

How about one that doesn't include Iggy:

    Dalembert - 12 mil 2 years left
    Kapono - 6.2 expiring
Any one of Speights, Young, or their 1st round pick

    For

    T-Mac 22.8 mil expiring
    J. Taylor - 0.7 mil

    It works on Trade Machine

Dalembert blows but he's the reason Philly does the deal, plus he becomes a valuable expiring next year. Kapono comes off the books this year, and we get whichever young stud we agree on.

Philly drops a ton of salary and can start rebuilding. Taylor is included for roster size reasons.

Yes indeed no way we give up our core group to get Iggy and no way we take Brand and his rediculous contract, but I would take SD's bad contract just because it's a need on this team and it expires next year.

I would be thrilled if this came to be.

I really don't want to lose any of the following: lowry/landry/brooks/scola/ariza

Kapono has a player option for 2010-11 that he would most assuredly exercise. I tried proposing a similar trade to yours but was quickly reminded about Kapono. Once you factor in Kapono's salary for next season, no thanks.

That's an awful trade. We take back $18 million in garbage just for 1 st round pick or one of their young players.

I'd rather take Iggy or Caron Butler.

    Iggy >>> Ariza.

And if we don't trade Ariza, all you do is slide him back down to the 3. Iggy would start at the 2. They can work together. Especially if Battier and Ariza can.

And with Iggy, he can take the last second shot at the end of the game., Dude is cold-blooded:

Iggy, Young, Holiday, Brand for TMac, Lowry, Taylor

If I'm Morey and I'm dealing with the Sixers, I'm only dealing if I get Iguodala and Thad Young.

I would take back any contract on the Sixers if it came with Iguodala.

In a "down" year, AI is averaging 19 points, 7 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals, and half a block per game. His shooting is down - only 43% overall and 33% from three, but before this year he's been at approx. 45% or better every year - never a great three point shooter, though.

Plus, this isn't yesteryear's Rockets. Players actually come to this team and occasionally get better.

And while both Dalembert and Brand are overpaid, and Brand particularly is overpaid and on too long of a deal, you can never have enough frontcourt help. Dalembert would be preferred, due to the shorter contract, the fact that he slides better into a 15mpg backup role, and he has length, which the team desperately needs, but if it was Brand, and if Les is willing to spend luxury tax dollars in the offseason to resign Lowry, Scola, maybe pick up a 10-15mpg roster guy with an exception, the team next year becomes:

    PG - Brooks, Lowry
    SG - AI, Chase
    SF - Battier, Ariza
    PF - Scola, Landry, Brand
    C - Yao, Andersen, [Brand]

Coached by Adelman, that team should be able to compete for a championship.

Again, Dalembert would be preferred, as would some other young talent, but AI is the real key piece here. He's an effective, near star all around talent that would fit perfectly with this team.

    439 (60.2%)

People seriously, why would you want to take Brand and that ridiculous contract? I believe Morey can get Iggy without taking on Brand. And stop with the Lowry throw in, to me he is untouchable in this deal

I'd do this deal, but i'd make sure that first rounder is added before i deal with Brand in any scenario.

Another thing where is Budinger going to find minutes?

    Ariza, Iggy, Battier, Young, Budinger?

Man if that's the case, then Brooks will be BACKUP to Lou.

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat:

    Rockets receive: Iguodala, Dalembert, Speights
    Sixers receive: McGrady, Cook, Taylor

Maybe throw in our 1st Round Pick to the tanking Sixers.

All I know is any deal involving Brand is a dealbreaker. I can stomach getting Dalembert since next year he expires AS LONG as we get iggy and other young talent to come with him.

I can see where Philly would want Lowry thrown in. Lowry is FROM Philly. Philly acknowledges they need better PG play. But I personally LOVE Lowry. I wouldn't include him in any deal unless somehow Thaddeus Young was included which seems far fetched.

I don't think this has to be overly complicated. Morey will ASK for more, but will probably settle for Iggy+Dalembert for Tmac when the dust settles if that's the final offer.

Don't worry, nobody wants T-mac for what he can or cannot do on the court, they only want the expiring contract. T-mac could be in an iron lung and teams would still value that contract.

This is why I any deal with Philly makes no sense...

Iggy has a long and expensive contract

Dalembert contract still has 2 more years left on it...

The Rockets said they wanted an all star caliber player with EXPIRING contracts...

Philly has no high dollar expiring contracts to trade (Kapono has a player option for next year)

This is why trading for Caron Butler makes more sense finaclaily because the Wizards have expiring contracts to trade. Remember, The Rockets still need money to resign Scola and Lowry in the offseason.
