oh, yeah, espn never includes any kinda of options in their trade machine stats......kapono's got a player option for like 6 million for the 10-11 season..which he OF COURSE will take up

No, it's not. Philly is very high on Lou Williams and rightfully so. He's basically their point guard of the future. Lowry would be a significant downgrade.

I dont think Philly would do this unless they got Rudy Gay out of it! And Memphis wants more than that for him i would think!

I'd rather have Dalembert based on need and contract than Iggy. We have the biggest hole in the middle that is only going to get more exposed as the season goes on. I really don't expect Yao to step back into his 35+ minutes 20/10 role next year - it will take time and we need a good C to allow Yao that time. Dalembert only has 1 more year remaining after this year - contract year - that will motivate even the hard to motivate players.

I'm afraid Iggy will only frustrate me and be a shorter, less D player than Ariza without the 3 point shot.

Take Dalembert and young pieces - leave Iggy.

I disagree! We have absolutely no legit scorers! Put Iggy in the deal or forget about it! Id rather go after a better post in the offseason then get dalembert anyway after i noticed what his contract would do to us!

I don't know if Philly is actually that high on Lou Williams...but I think both fans and the management realise Lou is not the longterm answer at the PG position...hes very much a combo guard and was playing mostly SG before Andre Miller left...in other words....LW is a Shooting Guard whos no where near starter material.

Jrue Holiday is their future at PG. Hes got the whole package and Lou does not...

I don't think they wanna be paying LW 5 million a year so they can keep losing

13-18 with Lou Williams this season...
    2-10 without him

Seems like they're better with him, to me. Call me crazy.

Good point i think Lou is a undersized scorer though. He can fill a void, but management might not hold interest in him. He is like Bobby Jackson a combo guard who they won't really need next season. Llull, Brooks, Budinger, Ariza??

I can see why they turned the deal down where is he going to get playing time for that kind of salary?

ok thats a valid point. however my point was either with Lou or no Lou they will continue this losing and won't be close to the playoffs at all. So I would think they want to trade away a undersized combo guard so they can clear as much capspace as possible and develop Holiday who I'm sure has a higher upside. By the time Philly is ready to compete LW will be past his prime. I doubt they would want to keep anyone not in their future plans. See John Salmons with Sacramento

    Iguodala:

    .329 Three Point %
    2 SPG
    .6 BPG

    Ariza:
    .303 Three Point %
    1.8 SPG
    .4 BPG

    Your argument isn't reality based.

    Nice little article about Iguodala:

    http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/john_schuhmann/11/11/iguodala.defense/

a few snippets from the article:

"Just take a look at the list of players who averaged at least 18 points, five rebounds, five assists and 1.5 steals last season: LeBron James, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade and Iguodala."

Iguodala's on-off-court differential of 6.8 points per 100 possessions on the defensive end was greater than that of every All-Defensive Team selection (first and second teams) except for James.

Originally i had cook going to the suns for added expiring contract incentive but i realized that the suns woud want another post player in return, given that they are weak in that area

Why the rockets do it: obviously we get iggy but we also get barbosa who i think would be an interesting fit within the offense. Alternatively we could package barbosa and ariza for JR Smith and change or an equivalent deal

Why the suns do it: I heard somewhere that the Suns were agressively shopping stoudemire and the sixers were an interested team, in return the suns get thad young, a decent wing player, and speights who has also shown potential. Also, they get mcgrady for the rest of the year and as an expiring contract which clears up future cap space and maybe sells tickets

Why the sixers do it: They get Amare, an all star big man for at least the rest of the year, battier, a veteran leader and elite defender which they really lack, and dudley who has been playing decently for the suns this year
they also rid themselves of the expensive contracts of iggy and dalembert or brand

what do you guys think? and sorry if it's in the wrong thread

This year almost 6 assists per game. Iguodala keep growing one me. Especially next year with Battier expiring. Especially if he is as good as advertised defensively. He makes Battier expendable and a definite trade asset.

You are right on the 3 pt shot but the other stats (.2 steals, .2 blocks) are not worth 6.4 million per year extra. But I will also conceed that Iggy is a much better ball handler and scrappier player than Trevor. But Iggy would look even better if we want to compare him to JT (ie I'm not a Trevor fan but just chosing the lessor of 2 evils).

Iggy 12.2 mill (and climbing) x 5 years / $68 million remaiming including this year
Ariza 5.8 mill (and climbing at a slower pace) x 4 years / $34 million remaining including this year

As I said earlier, I am not a Trevor fan but I'd rather have Trevor than Iggy given those numbers. We can live with Trevor (he just needs to cut his shots down and give them to Landry, Scola, Brooks and the ?new guy(s)?). People are talking about how much Sam would cost us but don't say a word about Iggy's inflated contract. Imagine Iggy in his final years. You'll wish you had Trevor - if that were possible.
