In that scenario, Iguodala would be Gasol. The Grizzlies weren't throwing in extra young talent with Gasol to get the deal done -- it was the exact opposite. I just can't see Philly desperate enough to give up two of their foundations just to cut off ONE year off a bad contract they have (Dalembert).

Ok, lets pretend the 76ers are run by a bunch of idiots and we will all be happier  .

How many teams in NBA history trades away their best player, and 2 of their best prospects just to get rid of a contract that expires in the following season?

If they do the trade (Because they are idiots  ) who are they going to build around? Holiday? All they can do is pray for Wall but who in their right mind would do that?

Sign a big name? Who would want to sign with a team that has no talent?

Gasol quit on the Griz, and they still had Rudy Gay to build around and develop. Sixers making this trade would be like Griz trading Gasol and Gay for expirers, which is not what happened.

    Think people, like Yak said.

    Common sense.

this was a favor to the Lakers by then GM Jerry West. Don't fool yourself and think no other team could have offered more for Pau but West wanted to help the Lakers before he was booted out of Memphis.

    Okay??

Would you want to resign Lowry and Scola and not get any FAs? Because that is what will happen if we just let McGrady expire. Getting a Holiday makes Lowry expendable. Getting a Young or Speights makes Scola expendable.

And no, there isn't another trade kicker.

Ya but if we HAVE to get rid of some of our young guys to get some of theirs (instead of Dalembert) I would prefer just taking on Dalemberts crappy contract and then trade him if we need to when Yao comes back. The main point is we have GOOD young talent! We are proving that this season, seeing as we are in the playoff hunt without a veteran scorer on the team. So trade T-Mac + Cook/Dorsey For Iggy and Dalembert! That way they keep their young guys and get rid of some bad contracts, and we keep our young guys and get a veteran scorer who would be a perfect #2 guy when Yao comes back!!

We shouldnt have to give up much.. They are pressed.. We aren't

Most we would possibly give is a pick, and thats if its protected

Yeah that would be great but what people are saying is that you have to look at the deal financially. I didnt know what a trade kicker was until someone posted and that 15% would absolutely kill us. I wonder if there is any way that the 15% could be waived lol. I mean we always could draft a young PF again because Scola is 29 and we could just start Carl and then use the money to sign Lowry because he is young and im sure he wont ask for a killer contract. Dalembert makes so much sense but as people said before there is something holding Morey back on this deal. I would love to see Iggy in Rocket Red I hope whatever is holding this deal back gets figured out soon because our team definitely needs some help.

What aboutToronto trading Vince Carter to New Jersey for Eric Williams, Aaron Williams and 2 draft picks. Alonzo Morning was part of the deal, but he never reported and was bought out for $9 mil.

Well Shoot idk then lol! Ive always been a BIG fan of Iggy so pretty much any trade for him i'm okay with! Just sayin I really like our young guys and would hate to see some of them go, as a fan u see these guys grow into the players they are and its tough to see them go, especially all the hard workers we have!

what young talent did LA think they were giving up? Certainly Marc is good now but no one thought he would be that good when the trade went down. Everyone was under the impression and belief that the Lakers got Pau for a bag of chips and not much more.

I wonder if Morey would consider taking Iggy/Dalembert if Philly agreed to add the cash to cover the trade kicker? Would that mean we would have to add an additional player?

Personally, I'd like to get one of their young players (I really like Young), but I didn't see anyone mention this possibility, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

StevieRebel already put it to rest. If Morey wanted this, it would have been made already. Morey is holding out for better  but I trust what SR says.

I was wondering the same thing, and also, if they paid for the trade kicker, would we have money to resign Scola & Lowry in the summer?

You're right because Toronto doesn't want McGrady back. ;) They want young assets and pieces back if they were to trade him.

Who knows you'd think this was a possibility. Did not know this is possible to pull. Can you really just throw in cash? I heard of teams buying picks and stuff, did not know you can buy trade kickers.
