It was just one example. The Rockets would have ZERO trouble dumping Andersen/Battier for an expiring.

We can speculate all day at what we think Les is willing and not willing to do, but none of us know. The point was to refute people who say it will never happen because of x and y, when there are ways around x and y.

If Iggy could play like T-mac of 04 this would be a done deal.

I don't know about that. Morey said there are only 2 teams except Rockets willing to take on contracts. For those 2 teams, I wonder Battier/Anderson offer could even crack top 10.

There are ways around, but all highly unlikely options as long as Dalembert's contract is involved.

Why will Philly do this? Their main reason for trading Iggy is to get rid of Brand/Dalembert. If they can't get rid of those guys why will they trade Iggy in the first place? Not only that we'll be getting 3 extra players back when we only have one roster spot. Which three guys are you going to cut?

The Rockets will not have any money to go after something awesome in Free Agency unless they renounce several players such as Scola and Lowry.

And if the rumors are true about them wanting to get an "athletic 4" to pair with Yao next year, that means that Scola is expendable. I don't like it, but there will be no room for whoever they bring in, plus Scola AND Landry.

Nobody wants Dalembert/Brand contract. Their primary reason for trading is monetary. They currently rank 29th in attendance. That's really bad, when there are only 30 teams. Iggy isn't bringing in the money and they want to lower expenses.

Dalembert is definitely a better option than Chuck and allows Shane and Ariza to play more aggressive on the perimeter. Any team with the ability to post up or drive will give us nightmares.

Let's take on Iggy and Dalembert... We can always go back to Chuck. If we lose Scola I understand. But Dalembert comes off the payroll in 2 years.

Rockets would lose Scola and Lowry. I am ok with Scola. However, I think we are giving up on Lowry too quickly. He has turned out better than Rafer.

I think Morey needs to get cocky, pull this trade then pull another with Scola/Battier/Anderson(or whoever) for rookie/future talent and capspace to resign. Like everyone is saying he can pull talent out of thin air. If this trade is on the table it makes us contenders this season and champions next season.

    True.

Still, I think we would have won at least ONE championship.

I also think we should try getting butler first, he's a better shooter and scorer than Iggy.

It's so close that we should definitely go with Iggy IMO considering age, defense, and overall athletic ability
