Exactly we need more fire power. In the 4th quarter we become zombies.

You can fix their defensive problem with adding a true shotblocker, but I agree with you that they have problem on the offensive side of the ball. You have Hayes, Battier and Ariza who are pretty much offensively challenged, so basically its only Scola, Brooks and Landry as the teams only true scorers.

Mostly O but some of our guys aren't good defenders.

So why isn't Rudy Gay on this team?

I will take a guy with natural defensive instincts/timing everytime over the offensive game. How many guys do we see out there that have the 15 footer and will bang ? Plenty...

But when it comes to players that are natural/innate shotblockers and can rebound, that's a rarer set of skills ........Game shangers on the defensive end.

These guys can be taught most times to have a decent offensive game and if not then they are still valuable in that to a degree you can't teach what they possess.

We had TMAC...semi-healthy...played the same spot as Rudy. Shane made more sense at that time..

I think we can but would be in the LT territory. Is Les going to pay that for just a better than average team? Ask BimaThug (or Carl Herrera), they are the captologists around here and know there stuff.

DD, you can't teach Scola, Landry, Hayes, to defend and rebound against Gasol/Odom/Bynums, when they play at his best. At the same level of intensity, they can't do it. But the best of having a Dalembert is not even his 1on1 defense but his presence in the middle, intimidation and rebounding.

Win now? So we trade for a guy that was on a team that couldn't win 1 playoff game? Ok

DD, you want guys to be versitile on offense and defense. Most teams, especially championship teams don't have alot of one way players and the rockets have alot of those guys. Iggy will never be the true scorer of martin, but he's a good enough scorer and his floor game, along with his defense, toughness, and durability are what trumps him above martin.

I know you follow nfl football and I'm pretty sure you have followed parcells. The year before he took over the 1-15 jets, they missed alot of games to injury, i think the led the league. He came in and fired the enitre training staff as well as the strength and conditioning people. The next season, they had the fewest games lost to injuries and went to the conf finals a yr or so later. He always uses the term trust. Can i trust you? You have never seen a title contending team with a main part who was injured alot. Why? Trust is the biggest factor. The jordan led bulls had the least amount of games missed of any team. Night in and night out, jackson knew his big dogs were going to be there and ready to play. Martin, or as gifted as he is, you don't know when he will miss a 20 game stretch.

See CHUCK HAYES...GREAT defensive player...HORRENDOUS offensive player. Gets his buckets off cuts...what if defense backs off of him, taking away his ability to cut...then you leave him open for 10-15 footers that he will NOT shoot cuz his shot is uglier than Shawn Marions..

Gotta agree with DD on this one.. go for an offensive minded player and teach him to play some D which isnt exactly the hardest thing in the world...just gotta MOVE YOUR FEET and stay in front of the offensive player. IT IS AS EASY AS IT SOUNDS...just gotta have the discipline to do it each and every play.

Dont get me wrong here.... i still think if AI can be had WITHOUT Dalembert.. you make that deal...he's got LOTS of tools and the durability that we have lacked over the last few years.

Spot on. I mean Morey is good but do you have to defend his every move.

Yes we needed to win now...

^ Tmac was our Rudy Gay so it didn't make as much sense to keep the same type of player.
Rockets thought they were one piece away, then everyone got injured.

But I agree with you on this one Iggy is better than Martin. Martin is only offensively minded he's almost a tmac with no passing skills and no defensive skills. We'll be getting another lopsided player.

LOL. Lakers got Bynum who was looking really promising, why trade for Pau Gasol?

Also, why did the Lakers use the 1st overall pick obtained from Cleveland on Worthy when they won the championship that year? Why not trade for a more 'game-ready' player?

Patience is the key when it comes to building a franchise. As much as I hate the Lakers I have to admit their management has been shrewd and far-sighted all these years. They gambled their 10th overall pick on Bynum when Kobe was complaining about lack of help, were they trying to "win now"? Why are they winning now? It's not that far away from that draft is it?

Win what? What indication did the rckets have they were one player away? You know when you're one player away? When you get to the finals and lose because of scoring or rebounds. Tracy wasn't our rudy gay, the rockets were coming off the lotto season. Thats like Lakers saying bynum is our chris mihm, so lets not draft bynum. Lotto season with the 2 guns missing alot of games. 1st round exit the year before the lotto becausthey had no one with size off the bench at wing and lack of another scorer.

What kind of trade was that? Really?

You're going into the past to say Morey SHOULD have done this.... It's like saying... I got shot yesterday now I'm dying... Lets go back. No, I should have dodged that bullet.
