SO the two writers are saying different things, one says this:

    Iggy+Dalemebert/Brand for McGrady

    the other one says this:

Iggy(in this case the "bad contract")+Young/Speight/Williams for McGrady

both deals would be amazingly sweet, even though the second one is Pau Gasol sweet!

I don't know, but for some reason I don't like this deal...yes of course I'm excited about getting Iggy,
    but something just feels wrong...

Two things that, IMO, are "no way, no how" with the Sixers:

    1) NO moving our core players with Me-Mac. Some of you guys act like WE are the desperate ones here. We're unloading TM--if other teams get ridiculous wanting Landry, Scola etc. then we simply hang on to TM and let him slowly twist in the wind the rest of the season.

    2) NO Elton Brand and his gargantuan contract under ANY circumstances.

whoa, the second one is an absolute steal!
Iggy is the best trade proposal so far.. and i would say that healthy 31 year old TMac would give similar number with what Iggy done this year.. plus Iggy actually plays defense, NOT injury prone (only miss 6 games in his career  ), and is not a cancer..

Gotta love him if he can do it.

    Me-Mac for Iggy and Dalembert?

I say forget digging for more--let's do that RIGHT NOW!

No matter the contracts taken... If you can get Iggy for Tracy in any shape or form you do it...

Iggy would be a dream come true. I see him as one of the more complete players in the league. Someone who you can count on ro play both ends of the court. Take dalembert and kapono contracts. If brand had to go I would want their 1st rnd pick or another young guy. Brand is too injury prone. I would trewat hin like mcgrady and keep him off the court until he was 100% healthy. I would give up ariza since he is young and a much better contract than iggy. If we kept ariza we would have too many sg/sf combo guards dalembert wouldn't be that bad if he can play just a little defense and spell yao some minutes to keep him from getting banged up.

Sounds too good to be true. 6ers can't be that stupid to be even considering this... can they??? Agree with fredv, if we can trade tmac for iggy w/o taking Brand or Dalembert... that will be Pau gasol trade-level sweetness.

It feels wrong because a deal like this would be kind of like Lloyd taping the head back on the parrot and selling it to the blind kid! Except that other GM's should know better. They're not blind, but they're overmatched against Morey.

A deal like this just validates the Morey Jedi mind trick videos. Don't feel guilty...just be glad Morey's on our side!

Piggs will fly before Landry and Lowry are involved in such a deal.

It's the same reporter writing the same news. Rockets don't want Brand or Dalembert.

This is understandable. Iggy + Brand/Dalembert = Rockets over LT next season before Scola or Lowry are even re-signed.

Likley a third team would have be worked in to take on Brand/Dalembert for presumably an expiring contract to the Rockets.

Do we believe this guy's source(s)?

Don't forget the oft-forgotten Hayes who needs to be resigned.

BTW - what is reasonable to me is the idea that Williams and Lowry get lumped together. I am a Browry guy, but KL needs to get paid, is from Philly and I heard last summer was on a wish list for a trade by Philly, but Rox were deaf to it.

    If I was DM aka W.W.D.M.D ;)

    McGrady, Ariza, Dorsey

    for Iggie, Dalembert, Kapono
-Phila can save money with Ariza taking Iggie's spot. they have almost identical stats but Ariza makes half as much money over the same amount of years. Ariza is still adjusting to his role but Iggie has been that person since day one so both teams win there. Dorsey is a way cheaper version of Dalembert but is a project, which they have plenty of time to do. Mcgrady adds cap relief and Kapon can give us two years of quality three point attempts to clear the paint when Yao is in.

    for Iggie, Brand, Speights
-Brands contract is horrible and we already have a solid pf rotation so a young backup center would have to be included. brand would pretty much be the starter next year and kill any chance of signing landry and or scola. thats the only thing that kills me with brand. I doubt the sixers would go for it since they dont even have 10 wins on the season yet but i would want to swap 1st round picks or something as well

Just finished watching the first half of yesterday's game. It is showing nearly nonstop on LP in Las Vegas.

First, I am amazed how fast our players are moving. You can see a VERY good Dallas team gasping for air just to catch up with our players. No way TMac fits this style of play of non-stop hustling and offensive movement; so RA's decision not to play Tmac was not personal. Tmac just didn't fit in.

Secondly, I also want Iggy, but not at the expense of any of our core young players. I like Scola, but if this trade brings Iggy, Dalembert plus one of their young players, Scola could be our sacrificial lamb.

I like our young guys too much. Sounds corny, but they are really the future of the Rockets because collectively, they are already better than 75% or better than the other teams in the league. Therefore, if Philly wants ANY of our core young players, no deal.

    t-mac#3,

It's because you are losing T-Mac. You can follow him to Philly.

    Current thought.

Ariza and Iggy on the wings running and gunning and playing 'hawkish' disrupting passing lanes and starting breaks? Any day of the week. Iggy is what i describe a more aggressive Battier not the position defender, but can guard his man and get in the lane and create turnovers. So theoretically he is a upgraded Doug Christie. I can't see this trade going down the first deal with Iggy and Dalambert produce Houston plus 10 wins and with Brand 13 wins. For Philly it produces them 15 loses without Brand and 11 loses without Dalambert.

The second deal wow Philly goes down with 22 more loses and Houston produces 11 more wins.

Not bad for a player who has value about equivalent to a 1-10th draft pick.

Morey can wait until February, if Philly don't want give the Rockets anything good.

When Philly looks at their January ticket receipts, they might change their mind.

    McGrady+Battier or Ariza for
Iguodala+Dalembert if I had my way.

    McGrady+Ariza+Lowry for
    Iguodala+Dalembert+Lou Williams

Keep in mind 80-90% of trades happen the end of January to February as close to the trade deadline as possible. All the speculating about November and December rumors is mostly just that, rumor and speculation and exploratory talks. Basically dont expect anything until after Jan 20th the earliest every year. And if something happens before then enjoy it. And just because they're not talking now doesnt mean the phones wont ring back up in February.

Exactly. January is the evaluation month to see how things are shaping out.

    Agreed.

We are now in top form at the moment, we are not in a hurry to trade.

Wait until february if none of the trade isn't beneficial for us. Rather than taking bad contracts such as Brand, it is better to let Tmac's contract expire I guess.
