I agree! The only guys that can go IMO are McGrady, Cook, Dorsey, and maybe J. Taylor

Now that I think about it Houston is crazy if they think they should get Iggy and another young player in return for T-mac. If they think t-mac is still worth that value then they should just played him, keep him until the end of the season and then let him expire.

would be nice if we could get the ball out of ariza's hands so he can relax a bit. if we can get a guy like iggy then i think that will elevate ariza since he has bit off more than he can chew with his lead role in the offense.

No,you aren't the only one by any means. He has some strengths, but there are concerns about him as well.

Alan Hahn, Newsday's Knicks beat writer, tweeted this

Not sure which story is more stunning this morning: Wiz drawing guns on each other in the locker room or talk of Iguodala for McGrady. Jeez.

FYI: Iguodala for McGrady is pretty much not happening, but the fact it was even discussed is stunning.

I just can't see the Rockets taking on contract weight for McGrady's expiring. Butler has just 1 yr left, which isnt bad. But not for Arenas

The value of McGrady's contract has nothing to with talent. It's all about the expiring contract that teams struggling financially will want badly.

Translation: Dear god I hope they take our crap for the big expiring.

The only concern i think is his contract. Him not living up to it. Having him here would mean having 2 guys who aren't worth their contract. Ariza and Andre.

Now I honestly think Ariza got way more than he deserved. He was on a Lakers team which was loaded. Kobe, Gasol, Fisher, Odom, and Phil Jackson basically gave Ariza his contract. Now if a coach that won 10 rings doesn't want to resign you then that's saying something.

Dude it's about the massive, insured contract. Just look at Tracy as.....What was it someone said ? ....walking (for now),breathing capspace.

If thats the case then why not use it for themselves. Just think about it. The core group of guys are already set. Yao may or may not opt out so he is still basically under contract. Now adding a piece to the puzzle that is already producing and exceeding way more than people thought would make this team a contender again.

The Rockets are not in cost-saving mode. They are in acquire talent mode.

No way Ariza gets dealt, I would include Tmac/Battier for Iggy/Speights/Young. My concern is the log jam at power forward with Landry, Young, and Scola. I could see Iggy at 2 with Ariza at 3 and Young and Battier off the bench at the 2 and 3.

A deal for Tmac that includes Iggy/Dalembert would work for us.

Philly is beginning to realize that team will not win with what they have and we only need a center like Dalembert to dunk the ball. A taller version of Chuck who can dunk, rebound, and block shots against the LA's and Denver's of the world.

Iggy at the 2 and Ariza at the 3 or vice versa with Shane coming off the bench with Lowry, Landry, Chuck, Budinger. Our bench becomes crazy deep. I see WCF with Iggy and Dalembert...

If you are saying that Iggy isn't worth his contract,it means that he isn't good enough of a player for what he brings to the court IMO.

Yes Yes Yes i understand that but what im basically trying to say is your not going to get what you really want. Maybe you can maybe you can't but my thing is not all G.M's are like the one from the Grizzlies who just give up good players for garbage.

McGrady's contract is a treasure yeah but what the Rockets want is basically going to leave them with McGrady when its all said and done. They want to get rid of him so bad that they probably wont and at the end he is going to walk and the Rockets get nothing out of it but 5 years worth of headaches

With the articles and tweets about the kind of talent we can get for mcgrady, I really hope it happens. I had come to terms with us getting the short end of the stick in the deal. I was fine with that, as long as we got rid of Mcgrady. But now with all these things getting my hopes up, Ill be slightly upset if nothing comes of it.

So basically you're saying you DON'T like the way the team is now??

If its winning, then break it??

You're just a sour player fan who can't handle the fact that we're winning without him and are just whinging about whatever you can.

If our current lineup is on pace to win 50 games - then AT LEAST you add in Yao Ming for next season - and then whatever $7million in free agency brings in (that's at worst - we could renounce etc and have more).

Face the facts, LewLloyd is 100% right - and the only move we should ever conisder for McGrady would be one that brings back considerable assets. Otherwise let the lazy bum sit and expire...

He isn't worth his contract because he basically isn't a number one option type of guy

One poster from the chron posted a question and Jon basically said something similar to what im trynna say

How about this trade? McGrady+Budinger for Iguodala+Green+Kapono. The 76ers of course want to unload Brand's contract, but this trade could also save a lot of money for them. Thank you!

(I like Iguodala. He certainly would fit. For that contract, they would have to absolutely love Iguodala. He's not in the top echelon of guys that win MVPs carry teams to championships, but he's paid almost like it. Beyond those considerations, though, he'd be a fine addition. -- Jonathan)
