Wow... this post is just... wow. So wrong. I'm a native Houstonian, and while I like Texadelphia, I consider it a completely different (and not as tasty) sandwich. Everything about a good cheesesteak in Philly is better - starting with the roll. The meat is consistently better too. I'll be back at Pat's in two weeks - Extra wiz wit' for me, please!
I might go back there for lunch today so I can try one of their hoagies. If so I'll ask them about hours.
OMFG that place is SOOOOOOOOO good. I've been trying to find somewhere like it everywhere. If you go.. the peppercorn cheesesteak is the BOMB. I'm sorry but no on else comes close.
No kidding. BIG, BIG fan of their peppercorn cheese steak, and just had one last weekend. If I worked near home I would eat there every other day.
If you're putting jalapeƱos and salsa instead of cheese, it's no longer a philly cheese steak sandwich.
Glad someone else liked it. What'd you order? I didn't make it over there today, but I still want to try one of the Italian sandwiches at some point this week.
For some reason, I really like the cheesesteak at Niko Niko's. It's not the typical Philly cheese sauce, but the thing is just great.
Can someone tell me where Papa Genos is at exactly? I was over near that area today and missed it completely!
The closest cheesesteak joint near me is Great Wraps in FC mall. It's alright, but no where near authentic.
What about NW Houston, any good places here? I just bought the Lean Cuisine one last night and it was horriidddd. YUcckkk
Went to Pappa Genos yesterday....HOLY CRAP Seriously that was orgasmic, I recommend it to any and everyone. AMAZING.
oh. em. gee. just finished mine and it was unreal. had the #3 sans mushrooms...the gravy was amazing. softened the bread just enough, but never came close to soggy. i want one for dinner too.
