that's why you're left guessing and figuring, when the reality is, YES, Philly Cheese Steaks are authentic and the best in the city of Brotherly Love. there's a new shop outside Kingwood on 59 and Northpark that is family owned from the East Coast, Phillycheesesteakco.com for the West Coasters, try Philly Steak Depot on Santa Monica and Vine. the next best to the real thing...
Today I went and tried Pappa Geno's, which is the new place in the Heights mentioned earlier in this thread. I gotta say, it's the best cheesesteak I've had. Definitily surpassed both Texedelphia and Jake's in my opinion. Owned by a family from Philly. Got the husband and wife up front, and the mother in the back cooking. Highly recommended! It's located at 18th and Ella. Here's a pic I took of my cheesesteak before I destroyed it. I got the #2 Philly, which has grilled onions and cheez whiz.
There's nothing more "authentic" about a sandwich with steak and cheese in Philadelphia than there is anyplace else. I've had better cheese steaks in Boston than I have in Philly.
I have to ask, what does cheez whiz taste like? Never tried it, does it taste like nacho cheese at all?
The best best best Philly Steak sandwiches in Houston is at ....... Sandwich King. I guarantee you will get addicted. I have ate at the Long view and Holister location. http://thesandwichking.com
that ****s nasty. want even nastier ****? subways philly cheesesteak. cheesebread peperjack cheese and mystery beef.
Better than Jakes? Really... Wow!! I have to try this!!!! Looks really good... Do you happen to know their hours of operation or have a phone number? I can't find anything online..... Thank you
It isn't exactly a philly cheese steak sandwich, but I'd take the Steak Hoagie at Pete's Fine Meats over any cheese steak I've found in Houston.
texadelphia on guadalupe > houston. speaking of austin, delaware subs have the best cheesesteaks in texas.
