I think Steve should be a close #3. He will be #1 or 2 this coming year.

BTW, crash, redao is not supporting terrorist, as you stated. He is anti-war. They're different. :)

kidd didn't single-handedly take the nets anywhere. he got alot of help when injured players came back last year. they also added macullough and jefferson. not to say that kidd isn't an incredible player but some of what happened is overrated. anyways i'd take payton over kidd 9 out of 10 times.

crash- you're right jay should be off the list all-together until he plays.

I think K-mart being healthy was a huge factor as well as plaing in the east.

Heck, Kidd had a solid nucleus with him , mashburn and JJ in Dallas along with Popeye Jones.

His Phoenix teams were much more talented than this current Nets team.

Tinsley is way too low. That guy is a true PG.

agreed. being in the east is a huge difference. the guy's a great player in either conference but the net's wouldn't of fared any better than his suns the previous year if they were in the west.

tinsley's definitely a pure pg but he hit the wall fast and hard last year and never really recovered. if he plays like he did for the first month or so he's top 10 material.

FYI, if it were a Payton for Marbury swap, Payton would have the a ring.

It's silly to say tha Kidd did all that. Payton would've done much better in Kidd's situation. Marbury would've done as much if he stayed.

The nets didn't have Jefferson, Kittles, Macculough, or Jason Collins when Marbury was there. Plus, K-Mart was a rookie. How can you compare?

Kidd is the 2nd best PG in the league, right behind Gary Payton. Based on PG play so far, Baron Davis comes 3rd, followed by Francis. Francis NEEDS to improve his assists, and reduce the turnovers. He needs to watch Stockton tapes, like Baron did.

By the end of the season, after Stev has a healthy season and Payton is traded to a contender, and the Nets DONT make the Finals (my predictions), here's what the list will look like:

    Gary Payton
Steve Francis and Jason Kidd tied
    Baron Davis
    Mike Bibby
    Marbury
    Andre Miller

Steve Francis isn't a better PG than Payton but he is more exciting to watch and it doesn't hurt my feelings to see the Franchise get some love from the media.

Kidd and Miller at this point in time may be better pure "team first" point guards, but that is a talent Francis has in equal abundance and will showcase this year with new found health, a new offense, and the capable personnel surrounding him. SF and Baron Davis are the new breed of PG. SF has the most raw talent of any of them - by far... :D

I had to resituate what I belived to be the more accurate top ten. Payton should be #1 because other than Francis he is the most all around point guard and has awesome defense. Jason Kidd at this point in his career is the best leader in the NBA and 2nd best assist man. Steve Francis is the best all around point guard. Andre Miller should be right behind Francis with his league leading assists per game. Baron Davis should be 5th because he lead his team to 44 wins, without him, who knows if they would have made the playoffs with Mash out half the year. Steve Nash was the best 3 point shooting point guard. Although Bibby didnt have the best stats during the regular season, he was the unsuspected leader of the Kings, in their quest to just come up short against the Lakers. Marbury has decent assists and pretty good scoring for a point, however every team he goes to seems to implode.

    1. Gary Payton
    2. Jason Kidd
    3. STEVE FRANCIS
    4. Andre Miller
    5. Baron Davis
    6. Steve Nash
    7. Mike Bibby
    8. Stephon Marbury
    9. Sam Cassell
    10. John Stockton

Seeing Stockton in that list is wierd. It's like Magic and Bird should be there too! Is that guy ever going to grow old?

I like that it was funny. Now here's what I want you to do, I want you to run in place until a top speed is reached. Now release yourself and run into a brick wall. Are things better now?

Bibby is not a one-hit wonder. He did it in college too. He plays big in big games. Steve has yet to achieve this and we are waiting.
