it doesn't surprise me and yet it still seems weird. it's like he took the job with no intention of ever actually doing it (or at least putting any real effort into it). i thought he was supposed to love the knicks from his time playing there? too much ego to put up with not getting along with dolan?
New associate head coach? Team mentor? Director of player mentality? Find him a title and bring him in!!!
I strongly doubt he will go back to coaching He will be on vacation for couple of years Maybe I am wrong, but he seems to be a dude who values spending his time on a ranch
Melo doing? Didn't melo basically say (at least behind closed doors) that he was sick of every coach having to be a triangle offense guru? Then the knicks hired horaceck. Then phil steps down.
Phil probably had to go. Another disappointing season & he brought in the coach who tried to sleep with every players' gf/wives.
If he were coming to coach and wouldn't bail after a year, hell yes. I'd much rather see him on the sidelines than Pringles.
Not surprised. At his age and having never done this sort of job before, I didn't know why he ever signed up in the first place.
Hell, I'd take a year of coaching in hopes that someone else hires Pringles to make him unavailable. Also, I'd only want Zen Master as a coach.
