1995, there was no player in the universe including space jam, that could hang with this guy. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Mcae_NBtkb4?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Mcae_NBtkb4?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
man i have been trying to findout how many wins and losses did MJ really have against the rockets overall CAN ANYONE FINDOUT????
What's Phil Jackson talking about? The same can be said about his so called "legacy" If it were not for all the great players on his teams he would be a mediocre coach at best...
He can go to hell. Rudy T took over that team after PJ took the ball and left after losing to the Pistons. And where the hell would PJ be without the most lopsided trade of this decade? Another low seed going into the playoffs? Nope, Kobe would have demanded a trade, and PJ is stuck with scrubs until he quit again.
It's just Phil being Phil. If I remember correctly, the Rockets were one of the few teams that had a winning record against the Bulls in the 90s. I definitely remember them having no problems with the Bulls and Hakeem having a bigger impact on the games than Jordan (Mad Max did what Cartwright and Longley couldn't on their best days flying high on cocaine); it would have been nice to meet them in the Finals in '96 or '97.
I found Jordan's stats on wins and losses to Houston here: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01/gamelog/2002/ These are the Stats: Wins-10 1987-11-28 CHI @ HOU W 34 points 1987-12-12 CHI HOU W 44 1989-02-24 CHI HOU W 33 1990-02-19 CHI HOU W 30 1992-01-25 CHI HOU W 35 1996-01-03 CHI HOU W 38 1996-01-30 CHI @ HOU W 22 1997-01-11 CHI HOU W 32 1998-01-18 CHI HOU W 45 1998-04-05 CHI @ HOU W 40 Losses-10 1987-01-15 CHI HOU L 43 points 1987-03-16 CHI @ HOU L 44 1989-02-03 CHI @ HOU L 29 1990-02-01 CHI @ HOU L 35 1991-01-03 CHI @ HOU L 32 1991-03-25 CHI HOU L 34 1992-01-30 CHI @ HOU L 22 1992-12-11 CHI HOU L 26 1993-01-28 CHI @ HOU L 26 1997-01-19 CHI @ HOU L 26

If we are going to be talking about "tainted" for a lack of players or even suspect calls. 01-02 NBA Championship <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2XmeA5VmhX4?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2XmeA5VmhX4?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Only reason the Lakers won in 08-09 (or even reached the Finals in 07-08); <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6_eY-FWAb2s?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6_eY-FWAb2s?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FIDp6IZEdrQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FIDp6IZEdrQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> I'm still convinced how in the world could the Lakers beat us, if we had a healthy Mutombo and Yao Ming.
The argument here is the early 90s, those late Rockets/Bulls were completely different. The frontline of the late Bulls team was much better with the addition of Rodman. Here's a thread you guys can read. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=14241 enjoy.
Desert Scar "Many of the others are fine receivers (Cris Carter, Terrell Owens, Isaac Bruce), but they benifit from better players and passing systems. Keyshon hasn't had much of year, but somebody has to get the ball to him. I am not a fan of his off the field stuff, but Keyshon is without a doubt top 3. Think about what he did 2 years ago when was the last time he had a real QB and system. He was awesume and probably still is." I wonder if he still stands by that.
So Phil is admitting that it's his players and not his coaching. Anyone could win with the players he has had. We beat the Bulls 5 out of 6 times during the years they won the championship before we won ours.
Disagree vehemently. Dream destroyed the Spurs frontcourt when they had Robinson and Rodman. Same result only moreso for a frontcourt that had Luc Longley and Rodman. Rodman never got in Dream's head like he did Karla and others. In fact, Dream seemed to intimidate him at times. For example, in that SA series, his seasonal averages for rebounds and points dropped. Of course, he had to contend with Chucky Brown too.
What about the Bulls in 1991? Beating a Lakers team that was missing two starters in Worthy and Scott? Major *
Granted, I didn't see the press conference, but one of my friends who DID said that Phil Jackson was CLEARLY being sarcastic. It was a stupid question that the reporter asked, so Jackson gave him a stupid response. I have a hard time believing that Phil would be THAT asinine to use words like "clearly" and "definitely"....especially that last part about "When Michael played, we won." There's a pretty big ring of facetiousness in there. Again though, I didn't see the thing live.
