Couldn't care less regarding the western conf finals.. Two of the most media hyped teams for the past decade ughhh...btw, Nash is still the league's worst back to back MVP...kareem just rolled on his grave, and he's not yet dead

    Good job Nash.

Now make a joke about his dating the owner's daughter.

    Alvin Gentry killed it too:

But the Phoenix coach added a jab at the Lakers when he was asked jokingly if the team worked on ball handling skills.

"We spent the day ducking elbows on post-ups, to see if we could duck elbows on post-ups, " Gentry said, a not-to-thinly veiled nod to the Lakers' style. "So it all works out, it all works out."

Maybe true about Nash, but b2b MVPs are so rare. He's still one of the best shooters in history. 50% fg%, 40% 3ptfg%, 90% ft. And he's done it like 3 or 4 years.

He's one of the most fun players to watch in the game, and he's 37!

I think what Jackson meant to say was:
"It's hard to prepare for Nash when you don't have a point guard to practice against"

No man, nash should be a 3 time mvp cause dirk stole his 3rd one, but writers didn't want to give him 3. Well deserving of back to back mvps.

I think Phil Jackson will have the last laugh when LA smokes PHX.

LA will not smoke Phoenix. This will be a very tough series.

    Record since all-star break ...

Phoenix: 23-6 in regular season, 8-2 in playoffs (vs POR, SAS)
LA: 16-12 in regular season, 8-2 in playoffs (vs OKC, UTA)

Phoenix did lose to LA at home late in the season. I think I picked LA to win this in 5 games, but maybe I'm underestimating Phoenix.

didnt Stern come out earlier and say he wouldnt tolerate criticism of the refs in the media? thats what phil is basically doing here

Stern should seriously fine jackson like 250k for this. jackson does it all the time and its ridiculous

i dont think the nba refs are great (esp some like crawford, bavetta) but they have the hardest sport to ref compared to other major league sports and for the most part do a really good job. i agreed with stern that by always criticizing officials in the media it feeds the whole conspiracy doubts and taints the game.

I don't think they are able to say Phil really did criticize the refs because he didn't do it directly. He did it indirectly which leaves a lot of open questions (in the NBA's eyes) and that's probably why they didn't do it. I agree with you though that he should fined, it's a clever way to get some treatment.

true but everyone and their moms know what the intent was behind the comment. I wish the NBA/Stern just had the balls to just go and fine him and say "look it wasnt a direct comment but we all know the intent behind it and if he says differently he is only lying"

the media may flame him but everyone would know Stern would be right, heck i am sure plenty of media would praise him for taking the stance
