Shaq won it in 2006 without Phil and with a team that was coached by Ron Jeremy prior to Riley taking over.
I wonder if Jackson even realizes one of his scouts was the coach those years we won the championship.
Little known fact about Michael Jordan(well, more like little reported fact) : He didn't win a championship in 9 season in which he played. MJ was great but people need to stop acting like he invented basketball, never lost a game, and won a ring every year.
Using Jackson's method of thinking, we can claim that every title in the past 6 years should have an asterisk since TMac and Yao were always injured.
He could have said, "We would never know what would have happened if Michael played. They won it fair and square. Props to Rudy."
To Phil Jackson, all other championships except his were tainted and should have an asterisk next to it because those teams never face teams that were coached by him. Only those teams, bulls and lakers, deserved the championships! What an old a$$!
I would like to say to Phil Jackson that his championships are tainted. Why? Because the only teams he coached included 2 of the arguably best players to ever play. Let's see him complain about the integrity of other teams' championships when he wins one with a team with say, the rockets current talent level.
Actually that was the only time I could remember Phil giving credit to the other team (and the fact that he had to use some mild expletive means that he was totally frustrated by the media's questioning). He almost never praises the opponent. It's always some form of "we beat ourselves blah blah blah."
Maybe he forgot how b****ass Stern grabbed a title from Rick's Kings and gave it to Phil and Jackson? That's personal and hope that Fakers'll lose in a first round :grin: or second :grin: or wcf :grin:
