From the outside yes, but there have been plenty of PGs with skillsets like Ish has that have developed an outside shot (ie: Parker and Kidd).

There are a lot more that never developed that shot and were out of the league.

He has elite vision, but so did Doug Gotleib....let's see if Ish can develop a decent shot.

Personally, I think he can, and is rushing his shot in the paint which is causing him to miss....if he took a half a beat more, he would be much more effective IMO.

Rondo. To perfection. This is who Ishmael Smith reminds me of.

And by that time Budinger will finally play like Larry Bird.

Teams at some point will force Ish to beat them from the perimeter. Scouting reports will come out over the next few games and teams will at some point treat Ish differently. He's going to be given alot of open shots and if Im another team thats what I would want, he's got to prove he can knock those shots down. Ish is just to dangerous for other teams when he gets in the lane. If Im the rockets, I would keep all three point guards.

Ish could be Rondo in a year

    or

He could get scouted and be completely exposed.

How about we wait a couple of months before making personnell moves?

Agree completely. He moves like Rondo and has the same body type. He is probably an even better passer than Rondo.

Rondo still hasn't developed his outside shot but you know it'll come eventually.

I'll be VERY curious to see what happens when AB comes back, if the team runs smoother and wins under Kyle then does he stick as the starter or does Aaron regain his starting spot?

lowry/smith rotation add play making ability and defense that our backcourt really really needs.

i am okay with letting go brooks and battier for iggy. whos down

I was impressed with Ish's effort leaping for rebounds.

Teams can play Rondo the same way they do Ish and Rondo is still successful, so I think Ish can figure it out.

However, Ish cannot pass to Yao, the opposing PG always sags back and fronts Yao.

He'll get the starting spot back, but it might make the Rockets more comfortable with trading Brooks if they have confidence in Lowry/Ish as their PGs.

    EXACTLY.

ISH is a 3rd string PG, nothing more

LOWRY would be the worst starting PG in the NBA without a guy like AB to relieve him and pose a credible shooting threat. The team would go downhill even faster.

BROOKS is small and needs a guy to come in a play defense and give him a breather as well as give the other team a new look.

BROOKS and LOWRY compliment each other PERFECTLY. Splitting them up would result in failure for BOTH of them

Hey guys Rondo and Kidd are terrible shooters, they'll never amount to anything in this league.

I don't know about failure, but when one is hurt, you need the other two. And apparently one of the three is often going to be hurt...

I think we need them all.

Kidd and Rondo also are among the best passers in league history and have been all-world defenders, are you seriously comparing Ish and Kyle to them?

People have gone nuts with this Ish/Rondo comparison, I like Ish but lets see him play more then 6 qtrs before going bananas for him. I wonder how the board will react after his first stinker, should be interesting.

And honestly, he has not played that great, he has played like a 3rd string PG. He made a TON of mistakes against the Spurs.

All I said was you don't have to be able to shoot in order to be a strong point guard, nothing I've seen from Ish indicates to me that he's a liability on D and not a very good passer. That is all.

We can hope AB comes back and gives us that 1-2 punch at PG we had last year but I don't see it happening.

He started the year with issues. Not adjusting to his new role. Not having his new contract. Not making even half the money as his backup, who showed up too hefty and thus got injured and is not even playing yet.

For Brooks to be effective, he has to play alongside a Stephen Jackson or Andre Iguodala or Joe Johnson. 2 guards that distribute. And he certainly doesn't need to play alongside Kevin Martin. Easily the worst defensive backcourt in the NBA.

So, we send AB to a team with such a player as I mentioned or we bring that player to us. SOMEthing like that.

And Ish? He can't shoot but he can distribute and control the tempo. AB is Speed Racer on a 5 hour energy drink.
