tim thomas is the posterboy for what's wrong with the nba.: athletic superfreak runs fast jumps high explosive dunks. It's a damn shame he doesn't have a clue about how to play basketball. What team does Tim Thomas belong on? The clippers (except brand) - the wasteland of track and field stars that don't know what the hell to do with that round, leather thingy. Except for the occasional out of body experience, Tim Thomas has never boxed out, never made a chest pass, never squared up to shoot the ball, and never jumped in the air with any idea of what he is going to do next. You'd be better off trying to make Tim Thomas your superstar. Those are the players with high upside and "talent". Conversely, role players are the fundamentally sound players. They don't wow you with their superior physical gifts. They play sound basketball. They make the routine play. They hit the open shot. They play team defense. They box out for their rebound. Good teams are built around the ubertalents of superstars and solidity of role players. Give me a freaking break. Tim Thomas my ass.
Try to get Curry Reinsdorf Clears Path For Curry Trade 11/11 - 4:17 AM Over the summer, Bulls general manager John Paxson engaged in trade talks with Memphis counterpart Jerry West about Eddy Curry. Names such as Lorenzen Wright and Bo Outlaw were thrown in the Bulls direction, prompting Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf to preach caution to Paxson's desire to trade Curry, insisting he get more than serviceable players like the Memphis duo. But now according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune two league sources indicated recently that Reinsdorf has acquiesced to Paxson's plan, no small philosophical shift for an owner who originally backed then-general manager Jerry Krause's idea to build around two big men making a bold leap from high school. "We have played our best when we have played small," coach Scott Skiles said. "We haven't gotten it done consistently with our bigs out there. "As soon as we went back to the big lineup [against Phoenix], we went down 20 again, almost immediately. That has happened quite a bit in 11 games (including eight exhibitions)." Curry doesn't fit into the tough, hard-working, physical team Paxson and coach Skiles are trying to build and appears certain to join best friend Jamal Crawford out of town. [Chicago
he played great with the Bucks. the dude that cost Ray Allen and Cassell a trip to the finals was Glen Robinson. Tim Thomas would flourish with Yao and Tmac. He's with the Knicks now and not showing off his true skills cause the Knicks have 20 overpaid guards who don't pass. If his contract weren't so high, he'd be great addition to our team. He'll get more PT than WEATHERSPOON.
one last thing--why keep comparing Thomas to Horry? Horry's GAME isn't the reason he won 6 championships! It was a) because he had the most dominant big/low post man (or top 2 at least) in the league on his team...and because he hit CLUTCH shots. What he's known for. Thomas coming here doesn't give him either of those right now. He'll never be Horry. Stop pretending they're similar in any respect
Yao can be the top man now. They are very similar in size versatility and 3 point shooting. We have no versatile players except for Tmac.
Well, the Rockets play the Knicks next week on TNT. So Tim Thomas will get some playing time against us. Maybe he'll win you over!
yeah, here's an idea, lets just add a max contract guy who doesn't deserve max money and end up in cap hell with the NY Knicks?
Tim Thomas is not a PF nor has he done diddly squat since he has been in the league...............not impressed.
Get to the back of the bus, i'm taking you to school! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=260504013 LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Better put that Battle of L.A. on hold. Boris Diaw and Shawn Marion each scored six points in overtime, Tim Thomas made two huge 3-pointers, and the Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Lakers 126-118 Thursday night to force a Game 7 in the first-round Western Conference playoff series.
Shawn, You are wrong buddy. Once again, I have to go back to these posts I had way earlier in the year knowing that my superior knowledge of the game is absolute. Tim Thomas has more than proven himself to the Suns. Without Tim Thomas, the Suns would have been swept.
